Hi,

As per my knowledge, any one can apply for HSMP or UK Tier 1 from their current country of resident[where he/she is living and working]. You can take the example of UK, My friends[Indian] are applying from UK for UK Tier 1.
One more point: if you are applying from UK or India...you have to apply for UK Tier 1 and from rest of the world
...you have to apply for HSMP.

Thanks,
Qumar

Hey Rashmi

I'm also and Indian national working in Swiss. was thinking of applying for HSMP.
I think you can apply for HSMP from Switzerland. Its based on the country of work not on nationality.

I might also apply but not sure..

bye

yep i am pakistani national , living in sweden , worked in dubai , applied from sweden , and its alright

you can apply from swiss , For EC you have to be a resident of swiss or you have to go back to your country of birth.

when you will get approval letter it will be written on that specfically.

hope it would help

Interesting!!

You mean after getting the HSMP letter. I have to apply for UK Tier1 (with the HSMP approval letter)?
as I am Indian citizen and in India UK Tier 1 has introduced.

Thanks,
Qumar

See Qumar

Thats what I was telling you its not clear what has to be done in this transition phase.
But I know of people who applied under HSMP from Switzerland and are Indian nationals.
They even got their EC done from Switzerland.

So I'm not sure what is correct process here and BIA doesnt seem to respond to these queries.

best of luck ppl!!!

Hello Nitin,

if you know some guys[Indian], who got their EC cleared from Swiss than waht is the confusion?
and to me it seems very odd that for EC you have to apply from your home country only!
as for EC also..you submit lots of docs[e.g salary slips, Employer letter...etc] ..it is very odd..that you collect docs from
your current country of resident and go to your home country for EC.

Thanks,
Qumar

hi Qamar , salary slips employer letter etc etc may be required in india while applying for EC in euorpean countries intgra screen is not applicable.

in most of euorpean countries world bridge service is processing the visa , they dont even require your orginal HSMP approval letter , they jsut take a photo copy and give you back orignal.

if you have a resident visa , there is no restriction to go to home country. ya if you are not resident i mean you are on visit visa or short term visa then you must go to home country.

in Case of you UK even you are resident in UK ( and on working holiday maker visa ) you must go back to your home country to apply for EC.

sense does not metter , rule does

Qumar

I think those people were on a resident permit here and you are right they if you are resident then it should be ok for EC too.

ohh...

One more thing..I mean by resident is that I have Resident Permit card[renews after ever 1-2 years] and I am working here from last 10 months and I can work here as long as my Employer wish....

Thanks,
Qumar

I think yes thats what a residence permit is.
Basically you should not be on a business or tourist visa.
