Congratulation on getting your EC.

I am planning to apply for EC in couple of weeks.I am married.I am applying for my own EC only.
I want to bring my family to UK once i settle in UK.

So my question is In VAF 9B Section Part 5a Your Family,IT asks for

Is your partner accompanying you or joining you later?

So which option to select ?

As i am not applying for her EC now so i dont know enough fund for her.I have 2800 GBP in bank account.

awaiting your reply.

Hi Swanand,

I want to apply for HSMP visa. I have my wife as dependent. For the documents of my wife I have following doubts

1) whether I need to submit any documents of my wife at initial HSMP stage.
2) If I need to submit any documents, which are the documents for her I need to submit from the below?

a) Notarized Passport copy
b) Notarized birth certificate
c) Notarized marriage certificate
d) Photograph as prescribed

e) Marriage Photograph

Request you to please assist me at the earliest.

Hi,
I already have a approval letter. I applied for EC from Pune,India on 2nd June.
I had filled the news forms VAF9A and VAF9B. Now in terms of new rules it is no where mentioned that a proof of accomodation is required. As a result I didn't proive any proof of accomodation althoigh I have my friends in UK.

Can the Visa office reject my EC application on the basis of no proof of accomodation. Aslo even if they reject (in the worst case) is it possible to submit them the proof and apply for the same application (which is rejected) OR a fresh application needs to be made altogether?

Hi,

I am having a similar doubt after going through the application form. I am now referring to VAF9, Appendix(post june 2008).

If i select that family will be joining later as "Yes" and provide details then the form expects me to fill up part 7 - travel date for family + appendix which says funds to be calculated based on you and family details provided. I am however not applying for dependents now, so quiet possible that immigration guys can reject saying u have 2800 but not enough for family :)

But if i select NO, then it means that my family is never going to join u later, if then i apply later for family they might even reject dependents...

Am i thinking too much?
Anybody can give clear picture on this?

Hi,

I have applied for EC.
Can you please let me know the link where we can find the status?

Also, is passport number and date of birth enough to find the status?

Thanks in advance.

Hi gmahe,

You can find the status under https://www.vfs.org.in/ApplicantStatus.aspx

You need to have the reference number in the bill that was given by VFS guys and your Date of Birth will do.

Rgds,
Velu

one small point. While filling up the address, don't give "care of" address
(c/o) as they will not accept this. Provide them your permanent address

Hi All,

I have been a silent viewer in this fourm.
I have applied for EC on 14 July, 2008 (Already had the approval letter). I have not received any responce from the VFS.
Now my employer is asking for the passport as they are sending me to US on short term basis.

Is there any way to get my passport back and then resubmit it for EC stamping ?

Please help.

Thanks
Gaugat....

Hello Gaugat,
I dont think you can get your passport back till the EC process is completed. Best option is to keep your employer informed about this.

Also generally US VISA appointments take time...so you can always schedule an appointment and hopefully your passport should return by then (EC approx takes 30 days...so you must be nearing the D-day now).

Hi Gaugat/All,

Just wanted to know whether you had got any more info on getting the passport back while the EC application was in prgress ?
Is it possible to get passport back and apply for a different type of visa before we get the EC processed?
In this case can we get the EC stamped after some time?

Some input on this will be valuable.

Regards,
Rajiv
