Topic: Anyone with HSMP Approval Letter applying for Tier1 after 1st April
Posted by sameerinfo2003 (53) 28 Apr 2008
hi hsmpuk15,

i do not have any written confirmation , but whatever i m telling u is the thing that i heard from the enquiry guy today morning .He was showing me the letter by saying that this is the letter that we have got from embassy or higher offices ( i don't remember exactly what did he say )...infact at first he was telling the opposite thing that ...the Investments/ MF's documents are valid while loan is not .. but later he confirmed from seniors and told that loan is also ok with them ...
but he didn't seemed very sure about the loan thing .....due to which i m worried ...

by the way , which center had u been to ?? i mean which city ??

One more thing perhaps if u r about to talk in BIA office .. then kindly ask if the personal loan being shown for maintenance fund is accepatble or not ?? It will be a great help for me ... :)

regards,

Sameer

no no - it is a SINGLE bank a/c.
I know its stupid, you have to be a financial idiot to put all ur money in one bank a/c and that too without investing it.
But thats what they want.

You cannot show multiple bank a/c's even if they are in your sole name. They said you can transfer funds into one a/c and wait for 90 days before submitting the application if the funds at present were not in a sigle a/c.

Please tell me if you have been told by BIA - not VFS that multiple a/cs are acceptable.
Thanks

Today I have visited VFS office Bangalore. They told me you have to maintain 2800GBP in your account for three months that is only way.You can not show mutual fund ,share etc that you can provide for extra support apart from maintenance criteria. Now VAF2 form is out of process you need to fill VAF 9A and VAF 9B form. They have given me PBS form to fill with that. After all they will provide visa for 2 year only. They told that every day rules are getting change so you need to enquire time to time to get updated information. They have given new site address http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/.

One more point to add...
You cannot produce a sponsorship letter and get exempted from the maintenance criteria.
So this 2800 pounds in the account is a must.

when I talk in the morning with VFS Cust Care. they told me that they would be provide Visa for 3 years.

VFS people fuddle lots.

I think who has applied in April with old HSMP approved letter and stamp Visa. they can only give right information.

Hello Sameer

you can take loan from bank. VFS 9A --> Part 7 have option tick mark

"Letter from a bank or LOAN company confirming funds and that they have been in your bank or other account for at least 3 months"

you have just take letter from bank saying that Amount has come from Personal Loan.

Even they are interested to have 2800 GBP in your account not where it has come from. but better to take letter.
(reply) (report this)
Posted by itsaurabh1 (8) 28 Apr 2008
yes they just want amount should be in your account thats all
they are not bothering that from where is it coming.

Hi All,

Is anyone currently in UK and have got hsmp Visa approval letter in April..As because if you are in Working Holiday Maker you cannot switch to HSMP,So we have to go to home country for Entry Clearance.

Yeah Saurabh that's cool.. i don't think that there is a problem with that .All they need to see whether u have enough money in your account to survive. So that u don't become liabilty to the country. No public funds will be allowed to u.

Thanks

Amit---

If I were you, i would have taken the chance and filled EC under old rules coz you got the letter in Jan....The new rule should not be applicable by any chance to you...and i have read few posts in orkut by people who got their approval letters in Jan and have applied for EC in the first week of april....

Guys: I might drop an email just to the people who are in transition phase, so that we can exchange our views by reply all...there are lot of alert for HSMP and EC coming in inbox but want dont want to miss any from these people...Please let me know in case you would lke to be a part...

Hi guys,
I am thinking to Apply for HSMP now.I had gone through new rules and site information also but does any one know that whether now I have to show docs for that maintenance funds also as 2800 £ over 3 months while making Initial hsmp application ?? (not while applying for EC but at the time of applying Initial Application) as now they(vfs and homeoffice) are saying that new Applicants as Tier-1 should submit total fees of 600£ (400+200 £) to vfs while submitting your application.

Also, if anyone willin g to apply for Tier-1 (old hsmp) after 1st april, please let me know clear diffrences between old hsmp rules and new Tier-1 rules.

This forum is only for EC discussion for HSMP discussion there is another forum or there are communities in orkut you can join them.Else mail me at hsmp@aol.in

Hi friends this the information i have got yerterday from vfs bangalore

Applying only for Primary applicant - should show minimum liquid funds of £2800

Primary applicant + 1 dependant = £2800 + £1602 = £4402

Primary applicant + 2 dependants = £2800 + £1602 + £801 = £5203

Primary applicant + 3 dependants = £2800 + £1602 + £801 + £801= £6004

Primary applicant should have minimum 2800 pounds in his/her bank account.

The extra amount can be in the account of the dependants.

The amount has to be present in the account/accounts for 3 months previous to EC application.

Savings account and fixed deposits are acceptable.

Mutual funds, shares etc may not be considered as liquid funds. That depends on the discretion of British High commission.

Sponsorship letter is not useful.

You cannot produce a sponsorship letter and get exempted from the maintenance criteria.

So the maintenance of the amount in the account is a must.

Different VFS centres give different opinion on these.

So there are chances that you hear a different thing from some other VFS.

Hi folks..i want a help from you guys..i got HSMP approval on 21st of april, by my application date was in Feb-2008, so i need to maintain funds of 2800 or 800 Pounds ???

IT returns form for this year will come only in the month of august so is it sufficient if i submit last three years tax statements??
(reply) (report this)
Posted by vikaskulkarni (11) 29 Apr 2008
Hi ramhsmp,
800pounds is for those candidates who have applied from within UK and got their approval letter. People who have applied outside UK will have to maintain 2800pounds for a period of 3 months from the date of EC application.

And IT returns for the last three years is more than sufficient.

Hi,

You dont need to take the IELTS. A language certificate from the university will be sufficient.

About the earnings the multiply your Indian Earnings converted to pounds by a factor of 5.3. This will give you the slot where your earnings will fall.

Thanks

Hi Amit,

I am in the same situation like you. I got HSMP approval letter on 24th of Jan and it is going to expire on 24th of July. I got to know about this new rule of maintenance funds in last week of April. So now i don't have 90days time, but started maintaining my account with required funds from 30th of April. So i have opportunity to show only for nearly 80days (savings acc) and I am planning to submit my Credit Card balance statement as a supporting document as i have very good Cash limit. But i don't know how far it will work.

Planning to apply for EC on 22nd of July.

Please share with me your approach and ideas for submitting the EC application.

Cheers,
Phani

You fall into "Transational arrangements for HSMP approval holders" . You have to show that the required funds have been on your bank account for at least 1 month, not 3 months. U need to read the "Transational arrangements..." on the HO website to check all details on how this should be done.

Hi Tatata

Could you please let me nkow where in the immigration rules (i checked in http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/pointsbasedsystem/eligibility/transitionalarrangements/ ) is it mentioned that, such people who have applied for HSMP approval by feb 29th / who await hsmp approval by 1st april in india, need to show 2800 GBP only for 1 month instead of 3 months??

I checked in this site and could not find any statements to that effect.

Regards.

@mssatheesh
go to http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/pointsbasedsystem/applying/applicationform/formforinitialapplication/
on right hand side u can c 2 pdf docs, open Tier 1 (General) of the points-based system - policy guidance, go to last page and read it.

Hi Bond011

I checked in the pdf as you've mentioned. But this is for people applying from within UK right? Not from India...

Bcoz its mentioned by many that applying from India means maintaining funds of 2800 GBP for 3 months from date of application for EC...So i was surprised reading that its enough if we have funds for 1 month prior to application.

Regards.

Hi bond011,
The policy guideline u r referring to seems to be for candidates who are applying within UK, because no where in the PDF I found 2800 pounds mentioned. There is only 800 pounds mentioned which is applicable only to candidates applying within UK. So Please verify and then post in the forum because people here already are very much confused abt these new rules.

hi Phani,

Where are u from in India? why you willing to apply in the 11th hours,, I think you must apply in 1st week of July to avoid last minute new things arise at VFS. and please note that 24th Jan'08 six month will be 23rd July 08.

I called VFS helpline 40084008, 1 month back,, that time they told me that i have follow old rule and i will have to fill VAF2 form and I'll get 2 year visa as HSMP ,,, but now I called them again in 1st week of May, now they told,, that there is some changes and updation, that you have to fill VAF9A & VAF9B and apply in new system as Tier 1, and I'll get 3 y visa,, also I can request for maximum 3 month Post dated visa from tha date I apply.
If you apply on 15th July... you can write in your cover letter that you need visa effective from 15th Oct08, because you dont have any plan to go UK right now,, so by that way you can save 3 month waste out of your 3 year time.

About the funds,:
you can show the saving a/c balance+mutual fund investment+bank FD's + NSC+PPF and beside that if you have nay real estate in your name.

I dont know... if credit card limit is okey for them., then it will help me too,, because my bank balance also 2900GBP on 30th April08 only.

my approval letter on 21st jan08,, so my last date is 20th july,, and and 19th and 20th july are off for VFS,, so my last last is 18th July.

If I apply on 15th july, then my fund will be only 75 days only,,,I planing to attach my mutual fund statment,

some one told that only 1 month balace is require for exitsing HSMP letter holder....

Actualy,, no one tell that right answer.. even VFS people are also telling the right information.

tell me your contact details so that we can talk on phone to resolve some issue if you face duing EC apply.

bye

Hi Amit,

I completely agree with you. Even the VFS team is not aware of the funds. They told the people who got the HSMP approval after 1st april 2008 then its mandatory to show 3 months liquid fund. If got approval before 1st april 2008 also if you have offer letter in hand then you can go ahead and apply for EC.

Please correct me if im wrong!!!
