I think u need to fill in VAF9A and VAF 9B. Also keep filled VAF2 if they ask you. Maintain ur funds and u also need to show acomodation in the UK. So get some arrangements from the UK may be a letter from ur firnds alsong with address proof or hotel bookings.

Arrange ur maintenenace fund in a nice way.

All the best, read the VFS website page which gives detail about Transitional arrangements for HSMP approval letter holders and u shall be fine.

No u cant, pls read the maintenance requirement on the website, it will help u a lot. VFS or BIA websites.

Which VFS did u go to? If u can, go to them with filled VAF9A and 9B and tell them that if they can, pls acept ur forms. I think they will not, but you can always request them. U know what, I had filled forms VAF 9A and 9B and they were not accepting any of them. I asked them to give me in writing that u r not accepting my forms, and they accepted after half an hour.

But u need to be very polite as it is ur fault. VFS are just courier people, they are not advisors. SO donot rely on wot they say. U need to take all the info from BIA website only, which gives u everything.

So try.

Hi Jimit
My wishes for a smooth landing in UK...

BTW, did you get a 3 year visa? Do you think it normally takes around 1 month for EC processing?

I have got my hsmp approval by april 7th, but need to wait for EC until June 18th, as I am maintaining funds only from march 19th...

Hi Jimit

I consulted this with many people, and got different replies.
Last after your revert i contacted a Law firm in UK, they said YES we can use our Parents or guardian's savings accounts statements as maintenance funds.

So can you confirm from some one or what shall i do...

Thanx for the previous revert

To mssatheesh,

Yes, you can take one month. But it depends on the office u apply and the queue there, some people also got in 15 to 20 working days, means remove Sat and Sun.

Good to see that u r patient, dont rush and maintain funds, its a good activity.

All the best. Make sure u also give accomodation letter form someone in the UK, like a friend or family or hotel reservation.

Should it be a hand written letter, can you help me know the language of the letter?

Well, Kapil, as far as my knowledge goes, you may not. But I am not an expert. Well, the best thing is that u read the guidance notes produced by the regulator on the BIA website. As such, tell me ur situation why dont u have the funds? Can u wait after u trnasfer those funds into ur account, and then apply so no issues.

In case u feel like using others account, u need to get a letter form them stating that they are ready for your use.

Hello to all,

I have some query about accommodation

My HSMP approval date is 21st Jan’08

I’m planning to apply for EC on 16th July 08 from Delhi.

VFS people told me that I can request for a “3 Month Post Dated Visa” from BHC. but Its upto BHC to accept my request or not…

I’m planning to land in UK just after Diwali, i.e. 30th Oct 08.

So please advice me.. for which date I should book my accommodation.

If book as per currently visa , then about i should book Aug end as per normal if BHC give current date Visa,

or if they accept my request and give me 3 month post dated visa as per my request ,, then I must make accommodation from 30th Oct 08.

So what i do.

Please reply

Just show post dated accomodation. Stay with ur words, wot u ask, u must prepare for that. Be confident and do expect something from the BDHC, try not to think like we are dependant on them. Bravo.

Hi !!

I want to apply for HSMP visa. I have my wife as dependent. I have completed all the documents for myself. Documents of my wife are still pending.

I have following doubts

1) whether I need to apply for my wife's visa at HSMP initial application stage, or only at the time of EC stage?
2) If at HSMP initial stage, what are the documents of my wife, i will require to submit ?
3) Is it advisable to apply for her visa at the time of HSMP initial application, or at the time of EC.
4) Is it advisable to first lend there alone and then call dependent after us

Hi Jimit
Is it mandatory to provide an offer letter from UK while applying for EC? I understand it will be nice, but want to check whether in any way it will affect the prospects if i dont give one...

If you know of someone who has got EC without providing the same, kindly let me know. That will be the case for this.

Regards.

Posted by jimit123456 (39) 12 Jun 2008
No, it is not at all mandatory. I got my EC without an offer letter.

You must look at the purpose of HSMP, if u satisfy the points and get approval from the HO, thats the main thing. Else EC is all about funds, u must be able to live there without others help.

There is another scheme for people with offer letters, its called work permit. So go ahead with maintenance funds and u shall be fine. Any questions, u can call 080 4008 4008 VFS call centre.

Hi Jimit

1.Do we have to fill in the BHC application form PBS 1.2, along with 9A & 9B forms (I have got hsmp approval by 1st april and applying for EC now)? or is it only for new applicants?

2. They said that we need to provide original & a copy for all docs(marksheets, certificates etc), and an additional set of photocopies for integra. It also includes an 'additional integra form'...what does this refer to? A copy of the integra form itself?

3. Do you have a covering letter format which you've used for your application? If so, could you please share the same?

Best Regards,

Hi All
I have also decided to apply for HSMP-tier 1 visa in September 2008.
Could anyone tell me whether I should apply directly or through consultant.
As the fees for applying is Rs 48,000 and any rejection will not refund the fees.
So I am worried whether to take help of consultant or not.
And if I should go via consultant, then please suggest me someone.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sachin

I understand you dilemma to self-apply or not-to-self apply, and its quite natural.

If you have a confidence and understood overall procedure or you feel
you can read from HO web site resource and understand it,then definitely
do u r self is the outcome.

If you feel you are running out of time to learn all this stuff regarding
applying procedures.catch the consultant is the outcome.

just take a minute relax, think and decide as per your prorities.

Its up to you.

Heyy my suggestion is apply your own.
unlike H1b , HSMP is a transperant and straight forward process.
Nothing to do with the consultant if you have all documents handy.

Any website or blogs will help you how to proceed.

Did you made booking in this hotel for 2 weeks? it too much expensive for 62gbp x15 days 930GBP. What if they charge my card?

I talked for some budget hotel, they said that they will charged on non- refundable basis.
He also told me that many people book for visa purpose. That’s why they charge.
What should I do.

Hi

i got my HSMP approval dated April 7th
i am applying for EC on Sep 1st week

i have a doubt that apart from showing 2800 pounds for 3 months and showing my PF and LIC

if i am unable to show any other assets like property (lands and house), will that affect my EC application

also i will be getting married next year by feb 2009, so will it be a problem if i go to UK in march means 4-5 months after getting the EC

also if i want to take my with wife wid me , can i apply for her at that time

Hi

I am holding HSMP approval letter and planning to apply for EC in the next week.I am married with one kid.
While going through Form VAF 9A and VAF 9B I have some issues.
Requesting you to share your views.
Currently I am planning to apply for my own EC only. I am having only 2800 GBP in bank account for satisfying maintenance criteria.I will go to UK first settle their and then I would like to apply for my wife and kid’s EC.

So my questions are

1. Should I provide family details in VAF 9B form (Under part 5a your family) or not?

2. What is the answer for question 7.1(VAF 9A Form Section 7)? If I provided details about family and dependent kid in the VAF 9B form (Under part 5a your family)

3.If I answer 2800 GBP to question 7.1 and provided family details in VAF 9B form(Under section 5a your family) then will my EC will get rejected?

Because I am not maintaining balance for them (1600 GBP (spouse) +1600 GBP (kid))

Please note that I am not applying for my spouse and Kid EC now.

Refer to following Sections in the form.
VAF - 9A Section 7
VAF - 9B Section 5a

Please guide me in filling these forms.

I would really appreciate your early reply.

candidates whose EC is granted please share your views as well.

You need not to show fixed assets land n all, they only consider liquid cash which is readily available.
After you get visa stamped you can travel any time you want and yes you can apply for spouse as well no probs in that.

Dear All,

I have an offer from UK Company, and as per company management schedules, I need to contact a person from Mumbai for further processing of my traveling documents, Visa, Work/permit and HSMP.

I have a query, there is any different between HSMP and Workpermit. or If I got Offer letter and Workpermit then also I need to consider HSMP approval.

the bottom line is my HSMP score is low.

Please advise.

Well work permit authorizes you to work in UK, but if you want to immigrate to UK then you need Tier1 visa which was earlier known as HSMP. If you score low in that then you must go for work permit and then later on you can switch to Tier1 once you qualify for it.

The question of applying for dependents, ( kids and wife) comes only after you get approval of TIER 1 or HSMP.
At the time of EC you need to apply and maintained the amount for your child ( ern) and wife.

But you need to check with the right person.

Hi test12345
This is reg hotel booking...earlier i remember you saying that while doing the booking, we need not pay anything, and then when we cancel (a week before actual start date), no issues, nothing is charged for that...

But in the last post, you say that you got full refund...Does it mean that you did pay the amount while booking which got refunded at the time of cancellation?

Kindly confirm asap, as i need to do this for my EC.
