Topic: New rules from April 2008
Posted by indikyd (8) 13 Sep 2007
Hi,

There are less real news and more speculations about the new 5 tier system which will be in place from April 2008.
If I get initial HSMP approval. How does it going to effect me interms of extension.
Or is it a wise idea to stay on Business and Commercial Workpermit rather then to go for the HSMP!

Does anyone have any idea upto what extent new HSMP rules will change if it change from April 2008?

Cheers

Hello Mate

I have b it digged in to this .As far as I understand , next april that tier 2 will kick in 50 point point based system. If you are a current HSMP then there is no change as such. But if they decide some thing different I don't think they will largely deviate from what it is from now (75 points system).Another fact is when apply , we agree to accept any changes. Please read the changes section which i have some more bits documented.

I am afraid If we decide we have to live with it.
keep an open eye.

Thanks for the link!

What i understood is, under HSMP you are still safe if you have
a masters (35)
have UK experience (5)
make 40K+ (45)
make 40K (40)
make 35K (35)

you got to be very young if you dont make more than 30K

still not bad ha... now what i would be interested in
- what % of HSMP immigrant make 40K or more per annum, any clue?
- what is an average per hour/day rate for an expert. on monster i saw rates varies from 200 to 500 per day

Well you are right.
you need to have 4-5 years UK experience to reach for 40k.(this is my own understanding) expereince in your countries , they dont bloody care at all.

well i think arrounf 30-40% get more than 40K.thats when you settle for good jobs here
well day rate is rubbish , its not consistant.so dont reply on that
look for full time jobs
also its more compliavcated to provide evidence of such contract work as it go through few people in administration

good luck

First you have to complete your studies.Once completed , you can switch to graduate scheme, accordlingly the new scheme give you 2 years right to work.

end of 2 years either you should manage to organize work permitor apply hsmp using the employment

its not complicated, but you need to have good skills ti have a job, MBA alone will not give you that much of choice

Good Luck

Mate I have to be very honest here,Its depending on the number of applications they have.
normally its 2-3 weeks under normal conditions

but It could escalate to 8-10 weeks

all the very best I know its a tense time
But as long as you have provided no gaps you will be fine

why do you want to do thru consultants? There are quite straight forward and clear guidance in website. If you go thru consultants they just fill up the forms and take the money from you minimum 60,000 to 1 lakh other than that they can't do anything else. I guess.. if you can put some effort to understand the rules.. you can do it your own. http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/pointsbasedsystem/
