Topic: Soft LUD"S
I received like, one Soft LUD 12/4, and then one Hard LUD 12/5/07, and then all these Soft LUD's 6, 7, 10, 15, 18.
Does that actually means anything?? Am I been too hopeful ????

Ubhiv , You can check anytime i guess .... they dont undo an LUD , even if they do .. it is going to create another LUD only.. i dont think you are going to get anything with the time of LUD

i must be the 2nd on LUD craze. 7, 8, 10, 11, 19. LUDs come on different hours. My last one was around 1pm today. Once you a get LUD. you go LUD crazy and keep checking every few hours. i check in the morning, then after my coffee, before lunch, after lunch. i will be so happy when all of this fiasco is over.

My LUD's fiasco are usually after 3pm, I think these people at the USCIS go clicking on every case, just to see us go crazy!!!!lololol.

I still really dont know how to check the LUD's. I have registered my case number and also checked for email alerts. There is one update on 08/29. Then nothing...How do u find out about the LUD's. They sent emails for each LUD..also how do u find out is it a soft or hard LUD...pls tell me.

Soft LUD is only a date change (no email, no message change)
Hard LUD is when message changes and/or email is sent.
The update on 8/29 sounds like a soft LUD

How do you check LUD's ?

Create a profile ( with the reciept number) in the USCIS.gov website
you login to the USCIS all the case dates are available for the status .These dates column when changes are known as Soft/Hard LUD's
SOFT LUD - No status change after the latest update
HARDLUD - Status change after the latest update

Also, how do people tell the time of day the LUD posted? I see people refer to times of the LUD's in this forum. Am I missing something???

What on earth are you talking about? For your information I have applied as an EB1 as well. I just want to know the difference between the LUD types. I did read the thread but I did not glean the information from it. Anyone else have a more useful answer?

When you log onto the USCIS website using your ID and password and look at your onine portfolio you will see
a list of your case(s).
One of the columns in that table is 'Last Update Date' (LUD).
Soft LUD is when this date changes, but the message does not (and/or no email is sent)
Hard LUD is when this date changes and the message changes too (case status change) and can be associated with an email.
To summarize:
Soft LUD is date change only
Hard LUD is message/case status change.

HELP PLEASE WITH LUD
Hi...everytime when a officer looks at a case is the LUD supposed to change all the time??? The reason i ask is my EAD was denied originally due to a service error that stated my I-485 is no longer pending..It is infact transferred to chicago in 2004 from nebraska and been pending in chicago ever since...I filed a new EAD application last week and my attorney FAXED nebraska a motion to reconsider their original service error and issue me the EAD..so far no change in the LUD for the denied case... can i say for sure 100% that no one looked in to the case then??? Any help will be greatly appreciated...My EAD hs currenly expired and i am out on leave of absence...

I don't really know how it works, but I imagine that a soft LUD would happen every time there is a change in the immigration file. So if they add notes, log in time worked on the application, add fingerprints and FBI reports, it would change the LUD. But I don't believe it would change just by them looking at it. Well, this is just a guess.
