Topic: Introduction of HR 5921 and cross chargeability
Posted by dacooldude (67) 02 May 2008
I have a question with regards to HR 5921 thats being introduced as a bill and cross chargeability. Does that effect those who are applying on basis of cross chargeability to the ROW countries. please advice me on this.

thank you

Who knows about the bills when they get approved etc.

Please try your best routes available.

I would say follow the logical order - calling USCIS, SR, ..... and use cross-chargeability if you can!

Ombudsman, Senators are helpful too, but it takes approx 30 days for them to respond.

As far as 5921 is concerned, don't wait for it please and find whatever best of the present laws have to offer. I wish your support for 5921 though.

Best Wishes

HI Jhaala,

I am applying using cross chargeability and am current and within the time frame of processing for TSC. What I dont understand is if bill gets through there will be more visas available. but at the same time there the visa bulletin will be affected as there would be more more demand from the capped countries like India, china etc. so the available visas would get used up fast.......does this make sense and am I understanding this correctly?

The bill is way too far to affect you adversely.

Cross-chargeability does not put you in a slow track, it rather gives you the advantage of the faster of the two queues. So irrespective of HR5921, you should apply for cross-chargeability.

Again, like a stuck up DVD - please support HR5921 ;-) It is about equal opportunity for all.

Best wishes.
