Had our interview at the San Jose field office on 06/04/08. The officer was really nice, after the interview he asked us to wait outside in the waiting lounge,then came with a letter which said case pending for further review,reason he said was that usually employment based cases do not have an interview and he really did not know why our case was transferred to the local office as it should have been approved at the service centre.He said he was going to call the Officer who transferred the case and only then would he be able to make a decision. cant really understand this.

Sounds like they got things mixed up. Maybe one of them, or both, were new on the job. Do you have any clue yourself why you wre sent to interview? Any unclear documents, periods out of status, arrests (like DUI), marriage short time before application or anything at all that would make them wanna ask questions? I hope you will get approved soon! If not, I would call both the local office and the SC customer service number, to make sure your case is not stuck between the local office and the SC.

may be they are waiting on some more checks/info... seems uscis is not transparent to its own employees.. not all employees (IOs) sees the same things...
