Topic: Card Production Ordered Club. Feel Free to join the club!!
Posted by arihant (90) 29 Jul 2008
npaoinc,

There are several things we tried. Not sure what worked. Here is a list of things:

1) Called TSC using POJ method several times. Each time they told us that they are unable to find my wife's biometrics and that they have "initiated an IT request" or "set an email" to find the missing information.
2) Went to INFOPASS a couple of times. The first time, the IO asked us to wait for 60 days. The second time, the IO sent an email to someone in TSC. I could not tell what the email address was nor what was written.
3) Sent a DHS7001 complaint form to Ombudsman. Ombudsman responded on Jun 30th that they have forwarded our query to USCIS and that USCIS will get back to us in 30-45 days. USCIS has not sent a specific response to our query yet (maybe their form of the response was to send us the new FP notice...I do not know)
4) Called the 202 Customer Assistance number provided by McBush and spoke to a friendly and helpful IO last week. This is only for customers with genuine problems. So, use it with care.

I was also getting ready to complain to local congressman and state senator. Have not done it yet.

My guess is that most likely 4 or 3 are the ones that worked. So, I would encourage you to do those two for sure if it has been over 30 days since CPO or approval and you have not yet received your card.

I called POJ method 2 times today. When I called first time, I think she put some notes on the case or something....and she said IT department will take care of it.

I called second time in the afternoon, They said biometric got download today and the card was ordered.

Ok...
after a long wait: "On July 29, 2008, we ordered production of your new card" (2 months+1 day after approval and 1 week after calling 1-202 number)
And I have an appointment in the local office for tomorrow
I thought to go to stamp my passport. Now I'm thinking, should I go?
Or it'll be just waste of time and money?

OK so after I called them yesterday, 2 things happened:

- I found LUD saying they resent me the letter. WHAT LETTER CAN THAT BE????
- Two hours ago I found another LUD/e-mail saying CPO for my case!!!

It looks like this call got things going. They told me they were opening a SR with TSC. The effect was immediate.

Now how long does it take for one to receive the card after this CPO? Weeks? Months? Yes my original receipt last year came from California but then the case got transferred back to Texas.

I just got my CPO on July 26 and email welcoming the new permanent resident today. Like the person above, can I expect to get my green card within the next 5 - 7 days?

I never recieved the CPO email but interestingly enough I got the G card in the mail yesterday. Progression of events:

7/21 Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.
7/25 Approval Notice Sent
7/28 Recieved G card in the Mailbox

Update - Today I received a new CPO message. CPO July 29th. This was not an update on my previous CPO but a new emaill was generated and automatically sent from CRIS. This does tell me that they are doing something and fianlly must have ordered the card. Arihant, McBush, , dimtrack, lanwarrior what do yawl think about this new development on my status.

I have a collection of CPOs starting 05/31/08, I should have 7 cards by now ;0)

Well... in my case there was no movement since approval until yesterday
so yesterday at 5pm I got CPO e-mail and today I also got CPO e-mail sent at 5am
both e-mails are identical ("On July 29, 2008, we ordered production of your new card") except the sending date and Message-ID

and I didn't go to scheduled INFOPASS today

CPO email sent to me was at 4:00AM. All of the previous updates were LUDs on my case where I would have to log in the CIS site and see LUDs on the case. So no emails were generated before. This one is different.

Mine's also On July 29, 2008, we ordered....

I'm happy to see this and hopefully this email is for reals and they mean it when they mention CPO.

Same here. I also got a CPO email today. This one was not in response to any phone call from me, etc. Therefore, that seems to be a good omen. ( I was approved around May 5 - followed by biometrics around May 20 - followed by CPO around May 20 - but no card)

Guys, I received the card ordered production just today (case approved on 07/01/2008 and welcome notice received on 07/08/2008).
I already used the stamp (I-551) to get in last weekend.

Maybe they fixed the printer, bought more paper/card or more ink....who knows....

Grrrr, this club scares me......I have my approval sent to me on July 28. No CPO yet. PLEASE HELP! I have an biometrics appointment for EAD renewal this Friday. My current EAD expires on 10/11. Should I go to this app just in case or I do not need to because my 485 is already approved as my attorney said. I really do not trust my attorney, so please advise!

All,

This is truly an interesting twist! I also received the email for the FIRST TIME that CPO is now July 29. So this is the THIRD TIME USCIS CHANGED my CPO date: 05/28, 06/30 and now 07/29.

However, it seems that it has some impact from the CIS Ombudsman call:

I joined the conference call with CIS Ombudsman on 07/29/08 as described in the previous thread (http://www.ilw.com/immigdaily/digest/2008,0721.shtm). Each participant have 2 minutes to speak up their mind and USCIS representative was listening in. Here's what I found out from people who speak out:

1) Texas Service Center
90% of people complained about DELAYS SPECIFICALLY with TSC, ranging from I-140, I-485, FBI name check, etc. Some guy complained that the name check was delayed for over 6 months!

2) CPO but no card received
I was the ONLY one in the call that talked about this issue. The CIS representative was surprised that:
- USCIS kept on delaying sending the card by changing the date
- USCIS did not provide an explanation other than telling me to "wait another 30 days"
To MY surprise, the CIS representative seems to be UNAWARE of this particular problem.

To that end, the CIS representative told me to report this problem to CIS Ombudsman office using form 7001. They will assist and contact USCIS and USCIS MUST respond to this problem within 45 days.

I STRONGLY urge anyone having CPO issue to file form 7001. If CIS Ombudsman received LOTS of form 7001 with the SAME problem, they will act on it. HEre's the details on filling out the form: http://www.dhs.gov/ximgtn/programs/editorial_0497.shtm

I am filling one now. It's better than waiting for ANOTHER 30 days again and again.

lanwarrior, Thanks for sharing the info. and many thanks to bring up the issue in the phone call conf. meeting.
I like your idea and also filling up the form. Though the dates changed again but not sure if they are really printing the card now or again this is some type of Hoax. It's hard to believe anything now till the card is in our hands.

I should be done filling the form soon.

lanwarrior's idea makes sense - more of the victims of TSC card delays should fill up this form.
Cheers!

torapan, Congrats!!
If your 485 is approved then your EAD status is VOID. I would call USCIS and confirm with them. I personally believe that you don't have to go now but you can go and give your FP, does it cost anything?..I'm not sure about the cost part because I did not have to renew my EAD.

Anywho, did you use an attorney to file your case? You should consult him/her and call CIS using POJ method to talk to an IO.

...my 2 cents!

Thanks Texandude! I am calling CIS right now. I hope you get your card soon too....

To everyone who has been waiting for more (or close to) 60 days, I would suggest filling out Form 701 as mentioned above. At this point, calling USCIS and making InfoPass appointment yield no result.

I personally have called USCIS numerous times (7 times? I don't recall) in the course of 45 days and made an InfoPass appointment. The result? "...wait for another 30 days..." crap from USCIS.

No GC yet... This is my timeline...

June 13: CPO - Email (1st)
June 16: Welcome Notice - Email
June 20: Welcome Notice - USPS
July 25: CPO - Email (2nd)
July 29: Approval Notice - Email

Still waiting for the GC and the Approval Notice... Hopefully will get it soon...

1. Is there an Approval Notice that you receive in addition to the Welcome Notice?

2. What is the "Permanent Resident Since" date on the GC? Is it the one on the Welcome Notice or the one on the Approval Notice or are all of these the same?

Thanks a lot in advance.

McBush! Hearty Congratulations! And Thank you for all your valuable research!

Texandude, in response to your earlier post about CPO email early in the morning, my feeling is that it is encouraging. Given the fact that McBush's kid received it and you were stuck in the exact same spot, I would say you will receive your card no later than next week.

Good luck!

I don't have any new updates to report: I'm still waiting for any LUDs on my case, the CPO email or the card in the mail.

maramara10, I'd say at this time, when TSC has rectified their printing the card issue, it's totally normal and they are working on the card to be printed so LUDs is a good sign. McBush, 12yrs... some trackitters got their cards. They were in similar situation. Hold on tight buddy..it's coming! :)

At least both of my EAD's were printed and shipped from there.

Good News. Today the status changed to the following... (I have pasted my previous note for background & reference). I think Texas has started acting on the CPO backlog..

Current Status: Card Mailed
On August 1, 2008, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.

Update:
After CPO on 07/29/08 today I got a call again from a USCIS offier informing me that Card has been ordered and gone to the printer. I politely said "well the card has been ordered 6 times already and that means I should have 6 cards". He laughed and mentinoned that this time it's for real and my Biometric were located on 07/23. He was quite cool. He had promised to give a call once he knows what's the deal. Last week he called telling that he has initiated the Request and today he called again to inform me that I should recieve the card. Then he goes "make sure your name is spelt conrrectly on your mailbox".
I said yes it is and if need be I can be around the mail box for next 2 weeks. He laughed again. At least some officers have a sense of Humor. :)

Good start for Monday for me.
