I guess people no longer read the whole thread. That number is shown in full on page 8 in the posting by McBush. His post explains as well what this number is for. USCIS Customer Assurance - 202-272-1874. It is not for status check, or questions why my case is not approved 1 month after receipt - but for real problems with cases such as card production ordered but never mailed.

Same exact situation as you...Last LUD was 08/06. Waiting for actual physical cards or approval notice sent email...

Give it some time. You may still get it within the next week or so. But, it is also more than likely that USCIS did not find your biometrics. Read my posts. This is exactly what happened to my wife. We were approved in May and she never got anything other than Welcome Notice Sent email. We contacted USCIS multiple times. They never found her biometrics. FInally they sent a new biometrics notice which she gave this week and within hours we got the CPO email update.
I would say, contact your service center using the POJ method to find out what is the delay. Many times, they make you wait 30 days before they will even look at your case. So, you may have to wait for that period before getting any concrete info on what is the delay on their side for sending you your card. The first thing they will do is try to find it by sending in an IT request. For some trackitters this has worked out. If USCIS still cannot find it, then they will issue a new FP notice like in my wife's case. In the meanwhile, you can try to get a temporary I-551 stamp on your passport by taking an Infopass appointment. Be aware that many local offices are reluctant to do this as well. For example, our local Office refused to stamp my wife's passport even though we tried to get it done multiple times.
Please be aware that in SOME cases, people got the card without any further LUDs or emails. But, based on seveal trackitters' experience in this thread, I would say there is a high probability that in your individual cases, USCIS is unable to find your biometrics.

was this a CPO or Welcome Notice email?
If it was a CPO, then it means that it was probably sent to the production facility. There are some problems that can occur at this stage:
1) The production facility thinks that the quality of the picture and finger print is not good enough to print a card
2) The production facility was having machine problems. As a result several people were stuck in this stage including McBush and Texandude. But, I think that problem has since been fixed.
3) They have the wrong mailing address on your wife's application. As a result they may have posted it to the wrong address.
Either way, contact USCIS and find out what is going on. Keep calling (rather your wife needs to keep calling) them until they give you information on what is the hold up.

In my case, I already got CPO email and a notice welcoming new PR email on 8/5. My fingerprints were taken last april (April 2008) so I doubt that they have expired.
Any other thoughts?
I'll wait for a week or two for the cards before I give them a call. Thanks again

I just called the 202 number and frankly I don't understand what the buzz is all about...yes, she was nice, but no she wasn't that helpful.
We received several CPO emails, starting on June 25. My daughter and I received the cards last Friday (we also had "Card Mailed" emails), we are still waiting for my wife's card. Mind you - my daughter didn't have Biometrics...the IO in InfoPass sent us to do her Biometrics on the spot. So I don't understand how can it be that three cards (supposedly) are sent to the printer at the same time and only two of them are printed and mailed....I just don't get it.
And the lady at the 202 # told my wife (she refused to speak with me) to call the NCS number.
Does anyone know if TSC has a fax number?

I got green last week and my wifes's 485 (filed along mine) does not have any update i.e. its still pending .... I have waited for a week to see if I see LUD, but none so far.
Whats my next step
1. Call TSC (POJ)
2. Do an infopass
3. SR
or call the 202 #
Please advice

I am also having the same issue. Today afternoon I did received email and LUD(To day's Date) for primary but I did not received email and NO LUD for Dependant.

@texandude - it's getting lonely here, all you guys are getting your cards. I called TSC again yesterday, only to find out that they still don't have my biometrics data. After that I called the 202 number again, but was not able to talk to the lady who talked to a couple of weeks ago. I left a voice mail for her. Let's see how this goes...

Is it by,
1) Fedex?
2) UPS?
3) USPS?
4) Did you have to sign to accept this mail or mailman just dropped in your mailbox?

Hi
I expect I will be out of town, when my card arrives. I am thinking of using the mail holding service provided by USPS. The one thing I want to make sure mail holding does not make an issue.
I know in case of mail forwarding the mail is returned to sender (if return service requested), i called USPS and asked them would it be true for mail holding, they told me its not true for mail holding service, no mail is returned.
Does anyone has used mail holding service, and do you guys see any issue with mail holding with respect to card or welcome letter mail?

I would call the local post office and make sure that it will not be returned and that is a real problem.

btw, I have a 2nd I 485 for all of us also in TSC filed on 8/16/07 by myself when I did not see reciepts for 7/2 filings by attorney during the July fiasco. Many people warned me that it will delay our GC and will cause RFEs ,but nothing happened.
I knew that my wife's and my sons NC were cleared 4-5 months ago,but mine was pending.Do not know whether mine was cleared or I am a beneficiary of the 180 day rule.

Hi
Those who have received the green card recently, would you please let me know, other than "Return Service Requested" is there anything else different from a regular mail is written on the envelope.
I am planning to go out of the town for few days, and planning to activate "Hold Mail" service offered by USPS. I called the USPS and asked them would they be returning the such a mail (return service requested) when there is a hold on the address. I was told NO, mail will be held.
I just want to make sure I am not missing anything and it is safe to use Hold Mail service

Today the status from my I485 changed into 'Card Production Ordere' - OMG - Does that mean that I am receiving a Green Card soon? I wold have expected some approval first? Or at least the status to change into 'case approved' or so? Am I mistaken? Please tell me that it means I am fine and will be having a GC soon!!!!

We got our CPO and welcome notice sent emails on 08/08 followed by CPO email again on 08/09 (with same message that card production was ordered on 08/07 for both primary and derivative).
However today my husband received the I-797 approval notice by postal mail though I (derivative) did not get the same. Has this happened to others who got their approval emails together, but received the paper docs at different times? We have previously always received all notices (filing receipts, FP notice) together. I am getting a little concerned - I hope my case is approved as well and was not a system glitch that sent out emails to both of us.

I never got CPO email. Don't worry about it at all. Actually my card sent to printer on Aug 4. Even before the welcome notice email.

I didn't receive the approval email, either.
Oh well, I guess I'll wait a couple more weeks.
EDIT: I received the cards on 8/13/08 without emails for CPO / Approval notice sent. Only email so far I got is 'Welcoming Notice sent.' The Welcome notice was delivered on 8/12, a day before green card delivery. |
