7/31: Card production ordered (email).
8/1: Soft LUD.
8/5: CPO #2 (email).
8/6: Received Welcome letter (dated 7/31).
8/11: "Approval notice sent" email.
8/12: Soft LUD.
8/12: Received GC 8/12!!!!! (Letter dated 8/7, postmarked 8/9)

Our journey is now officially complete. We got my wife's card in the mail finally. Everything is correct in the card.

My dates are exactly like yours :-) My I485 got approved on 8/5 with CPO email, then on 8/6 I got soft LUD and another round of CPO emails....no more on-line status changes and then 8/11 got Welcome letter in mail.... No changes today (8/12) and no card....well I have to check my mailbox tonight :-)
On-line status still shows CPO.
I think USCIS is so inconsistent "sometimes" that missing emails or on-line status changes do not seem to matter.

I got my paper copy of the welcome notice today. I have a question about the category (COA - right below your name on the I797). In my husbands welcome notice (primary), COA is E17 and mine is derivative and COA is E19. Does this look correct?

How do you know your card was sent to printer without getting CPO? I have not got any CPO. I received approval notice email and welcome letter in the mail.

it is correct given that your husband applied in EB1. Here are the two categories:
E17 - Outstanding professors or researchers, status adjusted
E19 - Spouses of E11, E12, E13, E16, E17, or E18, status adjusted

My dates of i-485 are same as yours and also same dates for LUDs till 08/11/08, and it was the day when i received aprroval notice but no card yet. may be today or tommorrow.

Just got off the call with NSC -- officer informed that my card has been ordered for production and i should receive it within 7-10 days.
But the online status still shows -- welcome notice mailed......

Hi, did you call the customer service rep or the immigration officer at NSC using POJ method? Please let me know since I am trying to find out if they've already mailed my card. It's more than a week now since CPO email, but nothing in the mail yet.

I hope this is ok and I will soon get our cards.
reason: we want to go to Toronto and Montreal starting Aug 30th.
as of today, we are both on our H1's and we both have our EAD and AP's (we also have a canadian tourist visa).
my BIGGEST question is: if we do not get the cards by Aug 29th, can we still go to canada and on what basis? (h1/AP?)
if we do get the cards by Aug 29th, what all do I need to take with me to canada to safely insure our return? just our Green cards and passports? anything else we should take with us?

8/16 - Received physical cards (Got forwarded from my old address) clearly my change of address with USCIS didn' work.
8/18 - Received "Document mailed to applicant" email. Don't know what this means.
Have not received physical Welcome ! notice yet. I am guessing it is stuck somewhere in the mail. Hoping it will not go back to USCIS. Since I have the physical cards in hand, I think nothing else matters.

Finally, today my and my wife's I485 got approved, after 2 RFEs and a wait of almost 3 years. I did not receive any RFE on I140 but was stuck in NC for almost 1.5 years and then received 2 RFEs on I485 (details in my profile). Deadline for my 2nd RFE was Aug 7th, and I replied on Aug 1. It was received by NSC on Aug 4th but there was no update for a week. Then I contacted my Representative's office, who in turn contacted NSC and were told to wait for 2 weeks. Exactly 2 weeks later, finally received the approvals!

There is no hard core rule that you must receive a CPO email.
I received my GC without any CPO emails.
