hey, gurus out there. I received CPO on August 26, 2008, and no welcome e mail nor approval notice e mail as of yet. Should I call TSC to inqure about my case?

8/25---> welcome notice was mailed on 8/23 (which is a saturday BTW ???) anyway!
till now NOTHING
no approval notice mailed
nothing in the mail yet either.

I'll give it till Monday afternoon, if nothing in my mail by then, I'll call Tuesday Am. if you get any updates please put it here on this thread and I'll do the same. Which state are you in? I'm in NC approved from TSC

Thanks catatemyhw, i thought so too. it's funny how we wait YEARS for the approval email but can't wait few days for the card to come in the mail. more than 42000 visited this thread. helps to know that we are not alone in this anexity.
I know it's premature but I was reading about the naturalization process and couldn't help but feel discrimination when they give it to GC holders through marriage in only 3 years but we have to wait 5 years for that??????? I can see in active military you get it sooner, logic. but why the heck should a GC holder via marriage be treated different than us. I bet if thousands of us hired a lawyer to sue USCIS for that they'll change it. Think about it, and if you agree with me, let's start a thread for that, collect people and do it.

yesterday afternoon, 2 beautiful Green Cards were in my home mail. Also emails from CRIS approval notice mailed on 8/28 just like you..I'll be surprised if you don't get the cards today, so prepare yourself for a fun weekend. By the way the welcome letter is nothing but a thin folded brochure that comes in the envelop that has the card in it..so welcome notice = card in same envelop...
8/22--> emails--> mine and my wife's CPO
8/25--> emails--> welcome notice sent on 8/23
8/28--> 2 cards arrive in the mail
8/28-->emails--> approval notice mailed on 8/28

Finally some news on my case (which got approved on 6/11): I just returned from my second biometrics appointment. They realized that my biometrics data was lost, or just gave up looking for it and scheduled me for another round of fingerprinting. About an hour after the appointment, I received a status update from CRIS: "Current Status: This case has been sent to another office for processing because it has jurisdiction over the case." They (again) transferred my case to Texas. Maybe this time the fingerprints will be sent to the correct service center. So, now I'm waiting for the CPO email...

then why would they send 2 different emails on 2 different days. one saying welcome notice sent, and the other says approval notice sent? I am travling back home tomorrow for 5 days to bring my wife to the USA. her GC got approved while away (last status H4, no AP) I am taking her GC wit me and we're coming together. I was hoping to also take her approval notice with me (don't know why, but just being extra cautious I think).

My lawyer said its same - I think its better to have the I797 with us just to make sure we have all the paperwork with us. After all, applicant is responsible for I485 process, not the employer. In my case, attorney hasn't received approval notice yet. Has anyone received it yet? |

Guys...I got i140 approval on 09/09 and then went for FP on 09/10 (made infopass because notice not recieved since 1 year)- got Soft LUD on mine and spouse cases on 09/11 and today saw an LUD on spouse's case for 09/12 - but not on mine..although I am the primary..wonder whats going on ?? CPO club....hope i can join soon...guys please advice...

I have received my Green Card three weeks ago. Today I got an email that document has been mailed. I received all document with my green card and what is that they have mailed after three weeks. I called USCIS and they said that they have the same info that document has been mailed. Is there any problem with my approved green card? I recently changed address online. Is it related to that? (reply) (report this)

It should be the change of address confirmation notice. You relax now, it takes 2 to 4 weeks for USCIS to send out snail mail confirmations of address changes. FYI: If you move again please make sure you inform USCIS at each and every move.

My case got approved while I was in India. The green card for me and my spouse was waiting in the mail. I did not know about it until I checked my mail. I entered on my advance parole and my wife on her H1b. The immigration officer did not mention at all that the case was approved. we were in for a pleasant surprise when we picked up the mail from the Post office.

But I do not have any CPO e-mail...Am I supposed to get that a few days after approval e-mail? How long does it normally take? Any information will be appreciated!

The status of my application changed to "Card production ordered" on 09/08. However, it hasn't changed since then and no card yet (09/17). Is that typical? Would an expedite request work at this stage (if accepted?)

Call the USCIS, however - there is a slight lag between the time you get the email..I guess you should have it before friday..GOODLUCK..
I just called USCIS they said, that my app is awaiting to be pre-adjudicated and no decision has been made, but she also said that I should hear something by month end, so keeping fingers crossed and waiting to join this club sooooooooooooN!!
