Judging by the "Card received in less than 10 days" posts, I can make a fairly accurate assumption that these are from NEBRASKA Service Center.

So far those from TEXAS Service Center have not received the actual card to date or have been waiting for more than 10 days.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the I-485 belongs to you whilst the I-140 belongs to the employer, so the green card should be send to you directly.

So far, all I-485 related documents, including receipt and approval, has been sent directly to my home address and the documents bears MY home address. On the opposite, PERM and I-140 documents are sent to my employer's lawyers and it bears THEIR address.

As a matter of fact, when I received my I-485 approval, I called my lawyer to ask them if they received my I-140 approval since they didn't tell me about that. To my surprise, she said "You received your AOS approval already? We didn't know that".
(reply) (report this)

That's cool. Yeah I have also received everthing 485 onwards to my home address and also good to know that the lawyers dont get a copy..unless they are signed up on email notification on the website. I had fired my lawyer who had applied for my 485 but later changed with G-28 update to a better one. Dont want the previous lawyer should recieve anything pretaining to my case.

I belive what you say and I don't dispute it.

Maybe both my laywer an I will recive the approval notice - will see. After all she is my lawyer (not my employer's layer) my employer only used her for LC and i140 applications.

Will update once the notice comes.

just curious to know if anyone here (from TSC) received their card without a CPO e-mail? Most of them I have seen so far have received CPO e-mail first and then other e-mails. In my case I have received e-mails for approval and welcome notice but nothing for CPO yet.

You know, I wish USCIS will sent a "Card sent" notice so we can track it, or have the option to have the card send via courier that we pay.

I am just worried about LOST MAIL because it had happened to me in the past. Quite rare actually, but if this happened to that ONE mail containing my green card, then that's a disaster to me!

6/14 - Soft LUD
6/16 - received the actual GCs and also the welcome notice (I-797) for myself and my spouse.

This is for a TSC case:

06/11 Approval Notice email
06/16 Approval Notice letter arrived

Nothing else yet, no CPO email, no welcome letter. On the actual approval notice, they write "Prior to receiving your permanent resident card you may be required to report for biometrics processing."

Is this normal, or could that be related to the alleged problems with fingerprints for EAC applications? I've had my biometrics appointment in November.

khk2008 I dont think so you have to go for another biometrics. I received similar text on my approval and my biometric was done on May 5th 2008. That's their generic format, as per my lawyer's feedback. So, as far as I think you dont have to go for another Biometrics. If they would want to then they will send you a FP notice.

PS - I know all of the above thru trackitt and other immigration blogs. Please consult your lawyer too.

6/11/08: Both i-140 and i-485 approval notice emails received (I filed concurrently)
6/13/08: soft LUD on i-140
6/16/08: Received i-485 approval notice in snail mail, and my lawyer received i-140 receipt.

Hi khk2008, yes it appears we are both in the exact same situation. My approval date for both i-140 an i-485 was 6/10, received the email on 6/11, and snail mails on 6/16. My cases were originally filed through California, and transferred to Texas. My receipt # starts with WAC.

It seems like there is a problem with TSC, and particularly with cases originally filed elsewhere and then transferred to TSC.

Looks like we are in a holding pattern......

Anyone else in the same boat?

gcdedoyaar,

It's reasonable to expect a newcomer would not know all the abbreviations. Let's be mindful.

I know what LUD means but I have no idea how you can check them out. When I check the status at caseStatusSearch website, it just shows the status of my case, and there is ablsolutely no details, no history at all.

HOW DO YOU TRACK THE LUD's IN YOUR CASE ??

I have already registered my email, but the coming emails are pretty inconsistent.

Last update to this thread, I still did NOT get my card yet.

It's been now 47 days since the Approval Notice.

Folks,

HOW MANY I-797 SHOULD WE RECEIVE AFTER APPROVAL?

In another thread someone mentioned only ONE I-797 will be received (either saying Approval or Welcoming the new PR). So I am little confused now.

I got the physical card, a green I-797C (Welcome Notice) and a white I-797D (which had the card in it). I believe I should get one more I-797C (Approval Notice), right?

You usually get either a Welcome notice or an Approval Notice, not both. So I am sorry to say, you will get no more mail from the USCIS .... :-( You are done!!!

Ok, may be you are right. All we need is the CARD and we got that and the welcome notice (I-797). So I guess I will not worry too much about the approval notice I-797.

MrVulcan,
Thanks for checking this thread and posting your opinion.
It's become frustating now for some of us waiting for the physical card for more than 10 days.
Why there's a difference. Some are getting within a week and some like us are being treated like a step child, okay this is just an analogy. As texandude posted an IO told him that some EAC cases are having issues for the FP to be printed the actual card hence there is a delay. Do you think that can bee true or it's just one of the LAME excuse from the encyclopedia of IO BS?.
Your expert opinion will be much appreciated.
Thanks
(reply) (report this)
Posted by MrVulcan (1157) 17 Jun 2008
Yes that can be true. I used to work at a company in Sweden that produced drivers licenses, credit cards etc, and usually we could produce and mail the cards within 1-2 business days, but sometime if there was a peak in production or a production problem there could be a delay.

The GC has a finger print printed on it and if the EAD has one too, and there is a problem printing that there may be a problem for the GCs as well. At least it can cause a general production delay. Worst case scenario is that they need parts from the manufacturer, which may take (more than) a few days.

I believe the USCIS sends the data needed for the card production either online or on a magnetic tape. Once it gets to the production facility it would be an automated process but it would require that the machines are working properly (which they don't if they cannot print the FP on an EAD) and that there is capacity. In our case we printed drivers licenses on one day and credit cards on another because we need to change the material ("paper") in the machine since we had only one, but I don't know if USCIS has more than one and if they need to change between EAD and GC.

If they have technical problems, it will get up and running soon. Just hang in there!!!!

Thanks MrVulcan. I knew we can count on you to give a feedback but my question would be that as my case and others in this post are in TSC...TSC is sending cards to lotsa people getting approval. My case was transfered to TSC but still has EAC receipt number....but wont they have issues with like printing any card and not only with EAC? not understanding that part. If it at all holds true as per IO's response.
(reply) (report this)
Posted by MrVulcan (1157) 17 Jun 2008
Unless there is a software glitch that would prevent printing EAC cards from SRC, yes all cards would be affected. Lets hope its not a software "glitch" like that because that would be a big mess.

Everyone that I have seen, including myself, got their cards from Kentucky, so I am guessing they only have one card production facility. I don't know if it has more than one production line though. If they have more than one, it could be that you have been assigned to the one that is faulting, but a good redundant system should reassign you to one that is working, but ....

It is my genreal impression from reading posts that card production has slowed down the last couple of days/weeks though, so I wouldn't be surprised if they have some production issues.
(reply) (report this)
Posted by 12yrsRUKiddin (54) 17 Jun 2008
Hello MrVulcan.
I think production issues may explain *reasonable* delays, but IMHO that can not explain the weeks of delays while same class of applications getting their cards withing a week.

I guess what I am saying is if there is a production issue than all similar applications should not receiving the cards. OR Card Produciton process has a very funny queuing system ??

47 days from approval... and still counting...

Then it sounds more like:
If you didn't get the card production ordered (and I know you did):
- They will need you to do another FP (your old FP is either expired or photo/fp/signature is of bad quality).
- They failed to file the internal I-80 form that orders card production.
If you did get the card production ordered:
- The record was "electronically" lost.
- There was a problem in the production of your card and it was destroyed, and they failed to print another one.
- The card was lost in the mail. (But they would know if it was sent or not.)

If any other than the first reason, I would keep at them to get the error corrected.

12yrs: Could you check if there is mention of ADIT on any of your approvals? This would signify aged-out biometrics.
(reply) (report this)
Posted by MrVulcan (1157) 17 Jun 2008
They always mention ADIT or that you may need finger printing, so that is no clue. If another fingerprinting/biometric is the cause, s/he shouldn't have gotten the card production ordered email. It is possible, even if I don't think it is very likely, that the email was sent in error though.

Yes CPO cannot be issued if FP is pending. Another possibility is 12yrs did a COA with AR-11, but lots of times, CIS fails to pick up the latest address - or just simply the card is lost in mail.

Vulcan, Shang, et al,
Let me clarify a few things:
No address change. What is AR-11?
Biometrics should not be a problem (Given in December)

5/1: Approval email received
5/5: Welcome notice LETTER received
5/28: caseStatusSearch says: Card Prod Ordered (NO EMAIL RECEIVED)
Nothing else has been received.

Wife's case may be related:
Received an RFE for immunization and biometrics, 4 weeks ago.
Biometrics was only for index finger
caseStatusSearch says: "received response to RFE"
Nobody touched it since 5/30.

Both cases are in TSC

You did receive physical welcome letter - so CIS does have your correct address. Qs: Why did the status change to CPO not trigger a CRIS email? This should not be related to your wife's hold-up. Call them.

Some people enter their work address instead of home address, and I assume some enter the lawyers address instead. It is incorrect, but it can be done. I also think that USCIS takes the lawyers address by mistake sometimes .....
