I talked to an IO - just use the POJ method and hang up when you hear "There are no immigration officers..." and try again after a while. I think I tried it about every 30 minutes for about 4 hours until I got transferred to TSC. Don't bother talking to customer service.

khk2008, Thanks...did you use some special combination after the toll free 1800 number to get to an IO?
If you did then can you please let us know.

Hello!

Maybe this will be a dumb question, but what is a POJ method?

Thanks!!

@texandude: I used the POJ method outlined here:

http://www.trackitt.com/discussion-forums/i485-1/14670411/
"POJ Method": 1-800-375-5283, press 1, 2, 2, 6, 1, enter receipt #, press 1, 3, 4. You should hear "You have reached TSC/ NSC, please wait"; if you hear "There are no officers available at this time", hang up and try later. This method allows you to speak with a real officer (if you're lucky...). Please do NOT abuse it.

texandude,

Yes, the IO did say there is a problem with finding her biometrics. Unlike the experience that texasniw had with the IT request initiated by the IO, in my wife's case the IO said to wait 30-45 days. If they do not manage to locate it by then then they will issue an FP notice. This does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling that they are actively trying to do something to locate her biometrics. Just seems like delaying tactics on their part to not do anything

khk2008,
Thanks. I did get hold of an IO... she was nice and helpful.. she looked at the status and told me the same thing that they cannot find my BIOMETRICS and she is sending a request to the IT dept. They should send the card within 48 hours if Biometrics are found, which she said they will be able to if not then they will ask me to go for another Biometric appointment.
She also asked my daytime phone number.

I do some see hope now.... !!

khk2008 thanks a lot for the info. that works...yes people do not abuse it..

Ok. My wife called AGAIN. And, this time the IO did say she has submitted an IT request. She said we should see something in 24 hours. If we do not see an update by Monday, then it means they are unable to locate the Biometrics. The IO asked my wife to call them at that point and REQUEST an FP appointment!! She says this is the fastest way to get FP done! If we wait for them to send the request, it may take 30-90 days. I did not know we could request FP ourselves. If we do not get an update by Monday, we will try to schedule one and see if we succeed!

If calling them does not work on Monday, I am trying to find out what other alternatives there are to generate an FP request. For example, does anyone know if the IO at Infopass can generate an FP request?

Alright guys summing it up with trackitters in similar siutation.
arihant
khk2008
texasniw
mehere
lanwarrior
and myself

We all got the same response from the IO and seems like our bio could not be linked. Though we have done our FPs and Biometric they should be able to locate as told by IO and also similar request will be sent to their IT department.

Let's keep everyone in the loop. If you get any LUD after today then please let us know.

Things are moving and hopefully we will see our forgotten cards soon.

Arihant - a2zgc had similar situaion like your s and of course like ours, bio issue, but he received his wife's card after talking to IO. That is cool.

Good Luck!!

Sounds good. I'll be calling today and will try to talk to an IO.
a2zgc got her wife's card without going for another biometric. We should all try for that as that will be faster if they can locate our already done biometrics. I believe going for another Bio will delay more. We should remind them, their IQ levels are lower than a 5th grader, that FPs don't change for life and they should find them.

I want to add my name to this list.
- Both my wife and I were approved around May 5
- She got her card by May 12, while I only got an approval notice
- I got a biometric appointment for Jun 5
- After giving my biometrics again, the website status changed from "approval notice sent" to "card production ordered"
- However, since Jun 5/6 there has been no further update and I have not received the green card either

I am wondering if this is an issue with Texas and a particular geography. I am in NJ area... therefore the fingerprints from NJ office will have to be uploaded to the card production facility. Are all of you also in the NJ (or tri-state area ?)

I will update further if I get more info (or if I get my card !)

RegdAfterGreen,
Welcome to the club. Well, seems like the problem is with TSC. It does not matter where you reside As you can see all of us are TSC cases, either transfered from other srvice center or originally from there. Now, my guess is based on the fact that TSC is slow lately in sending the cards compare to NSC but residing in a particular state is not an issue.

RegdAfterGreen,
You are also in similar situation like some of on this thread.

Can you let us know if you got Biometrics appointment for the second time?
After how many days did they ask you for another Bio? (if second one)? In your profile there is no Fingerprinting Date 1?
Did you talk to an IO about your case?

It does not matter where you live. I'm in Texas and waiting for the card. It's the service center proccessing the case. Which'd be TSC.

- My first bio metrics were done around Jun / Jul 2007 (along with my wife)
- My wife's card came through.. but they asked me for a second biometric
- The notice came on May 22 (17 days after the approval notice sent)
- The actual biometrics took place on Jun 5
- Not talked to IO about the case as yet

thanks foro your responses.
I'm going to the ASC- where I did my FPs and talk to the supervisor and give them a copy of my FP notice where they sign and give it to us. Will tell then that my FPs cannot be located and if they can do something about it.

It was not told by an IO to me but wanna give it a shot. What the heck!!
Will update when I get back!!

Well, no luck with ASC. Went to clarify that if they can send an email/notification to the IO but they said that our FPs go to FBI and not USCIS directly. FBI then sends them after checking to USCIS. So going to ASC is not helpful but was worth a shot ;0)

I'm not understanding that why our approved cases stuck? Are they reviewing the case? before they send the card?
Our name check is clear and background check clear as the case is approved?? I think it is. What's their fuss to link Bio to the card and print with it with picture and send it?

Any comments?

They didn't understand what you wanted
ten prints (code 1) goes to FBI
photo+signature+1 finger (code 2) needed for card production and can not possibly go to FBI. and they probably call it 'biometrics', not 'fingerprints'

as far as I can speculate, when you did your biometrics, they send it to service center according to the three letters of your reciept number (ie to Vermont [EAC] for me), and now texas guys can not locate it in their computer (looks like they are not even trying until you call them)

I had already done my code 3 Biometric on May 5th 2008. Dimtrack... the reason I went there to see if ASC can do something about it as the IO told me and some others that our Biometric is the issue for the delay as they cannot linkit.
They are still waiting for the update. All of were told that by the IO that they will send a reminder to IT dept. to work on this.

Now I'm not sure if the IO sent the request or did anything about it as till today I did not see any change/soft LUD on my status.

I did my code 3 on 10/11/07
and ASC sends bio and forget everything about it
So there is (I suppose) a long forgotten dusty and covered by mold computer with our biometrics in it and only IT guys have secret cheat codes to incapacitate a monster guarding this computer and steal our bio from under his nose!!!
And it is a very dangerous mission, so they don't do it on a regular basis!!!

Please do not take any action at this time. If you are required to report for this processing, you will recieve another notice advising you of the date, time and location to appear.

Round 1.
1:0 to uscis

As my approval was more than a month ago, I decided to call customer service first.

Now, I'm not sure if they really ordered or with this date change the wait extends to 30 more days... happy to see that change but not so happy about their new trick....any suggestions?
Will celebrate only when I see the bloody card without any mistakes on it, like spelling

Current Status: Card production ordered.

On June 28, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.

Well, it is what it says in the e-mail from CRIS, "Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration"

Round 2:
Called TSC using POJ
"Call the 1-800 number for customer service, do not enter your reciept number, choose options 1-2-2-6-2-4"

arihant, thanks... I think they are working on the so called "forgotten" cases as we are constantly reminding them...and we should. You also opened a Ombudsman with them right? what's the update on that? No soft LUD on the case after that?

I think you will receive your wife's card soon too as they have to work on approved and delayed cases!! but the trick is we have to keep reminding 'em constantly.
(reply) (report this)
Posted by arihant (90) 30 Jun 2008
No news from Ombudsman yet. No soft LUD either. My wife did not get through to TSC. She only managed to reach customer service rep who has forwarded an email to TSC enquiring/'reminding' them about her case. The customer rep has no knowledge of an IT request (which is understandable as they have VERY limited knowledge about the entire process anyway). She also mentioned that they cannot generate a new FP request over the phone. She did mention that an Infopass may help in generating a new FP notice. We have an infopass appointment on July 7th. Let us see what happens then.

I have asked my wife to continue to try and reach TSC. Will post if we find any more information on her case. Looks like her case is in a black hole and nobody at USCIS is willing to go into the black hole to retrieve her card for us!

A genuine request to all those who have not received CPO even 7 days after Welcome notice (whether it is the primary or some of the dependents), please do not assume that the card will somehow magically appear in your mail box one day. Assume, instead, that there is a technical problem on USCIS's end and follow up with them.

After following several posts on this issue, here is my summary of the primary problems:
1) If you do not receive your CPO, the primary reason seems to be because they oculd not locate your biometrics. There may be several reasons for why they cannot find it, but this seems to be the big black hole. For some people, an IT request has worked, and for others a new FP notice has helped. In either case, until they find your biometrics, they will not issue a card, and we cannot assume that they will automatically find it until we diligently follow up with them about it.

2) If you do receive CPO and still see no card, the primary reason seems to be that they shipped it to the wrong address. You can assume this to be the case if you have moved and filed AR-11 at least once after you filed I-485. In some cases, USCIS seems to still grab the old address even if you filed AR-11 before filing I-485. All you can do here is keep following up with them to ensure that they send the card to the correct address after it is returned to them as undeliverable. I think there are also some cases in the second category where USCIS does issue CPO and still do not find biometrics. As a result, people get the CPO email but still do not get the card.

Bottom line, follow up if you have NOT got your CPO within a week or your actual card within 3 weeks.

I think as you have informed them last week about the delay and it's more than 30 days they should be doing something about it.

My 8-year old daughter's I-485 was approved in early April. She was asked to submit her biometrics in ASC on April 18. There was a soft LUD on April 20 and 21. Then nothing happened. After ~30 days, I called TSC. Then May 21, CPO email was received.
Then nothing happened in 20 days. I called TSC again, IO said there is glitch in their system, and "you should receive your card in 7 days." 7 days passed, that night (20 June) there was a soft LUD saying "On June 20, we ordered production of your new card ...". I waited for 7 days, nothing happened. Then on June 26, another soft LUD "On June 26, we ordered production of your new card..". Until now I haven't receive anything from them. What's the problem with TSC?
