Guys/gals,

I just found the form called G-731T (Inquiry about status of I-551 Alien Registration Card). It says to wait 90 days after approval before filing this form. Has anyone used this? I plan to use it if we do not hear from them in 90 days. I am including the link below for the form to use to file with TSC. Each service center has a different form. In the url below, replace the 't' with 'c' for california, 'n' for nebraska or 'v' for vermont to get to the other forms.

Good luck!

Arihant,
Thanks for the update. Yeah this is definitely helpful and thanks for sharing.
I'm not able to understand though why they need to delay sending the cards? As a norm these days everyone get their cards in 10 days.... Our karmas cant be that bad now :(!! what's the fuss!? I was assured that by an IO that as they have found the Bio info I should receive the card in 10 days and that was end off June. It's nore than 10 days!! did she say 10 years? maybe I did not hear her respone correctly. Bloody bafoons!! I'm pissed and frustated totally!! and don't care a flying fu**!

It's now more than 30 days past my approval notice date, so I just called the TSC using the POJ method. Got through to a very rude and unhelpful IO who hung up on me and I called back and got her again. My case is still showing that my biometrics images are missing, therefore holding up my GC production. When I called 2 weeks ago they said they initiated a search, but either they didn't, or didn't find them, but don't know either way as there are no notes on the case. She refused to re-search, and told me that if I have the original appointment notice for biometrics I can walk into the processing center on a Saturday, explain the situation and have them re-done. I told her I was not sure where the letter was, and she offered to send me for a new biometrics appointment, but I declined this for now as that could take weeks. I'm going to look for the biometrics appointment notice at home first. Does anyone know if we keep this or if they take it off us when we go for the appointment? I'm not sure if I still have it....

From TSC:
6/11/08: Both i-140 and i-485 approval notice emails received (I filed concurrently)
6/13/08: soft LUD on i-140
6/16/08: Received i-485 approval notice in snail mail (USPS), and my lawyer received i-140 receipt.
7/01/08: Talked to IO at TSC who has initiated a biometrics search on my case.
7/14/08: Talked to IO at TSC who told me biometrics images were still missing, told me to use my original biometrics appointment letter and return to the processing center for re-printing.

marky2002,
Yes, after Biometrics they stamp the notice and the person who does your Bio. signs it and gives it back to us.
It's not any copy it's the original, the one we receive in the mail for the appointment.
2 Cents - Keep everything in one file folder till you receive the card and also after that. You never know these jacka$$e$ can ask for anything.

texandude, did you not try this trick a while back? I remember seeing a post by you about going to the ASC and they said that they send the prints to FBI and not to USCIS? Did you try to get new prints done or just asked them to locate the old ones?

I am wondering if they would oblige to redo the prints with the same old notice? Sounds iffy to me - USCIS IOs tell us all kinds of things which turn out to be incorrect. So, what the IO told marky2002 may fall into this "murky" category as well. LOL.

Anyway, I have the original notice signed by ASC for my wife. Will they redo the prints if we visit them on a saturday? Any thoughts/comments/suggestions?

Well I guess I am part of the club too!!!
My case was approved on March 10, 2008....after waiting 90 day I made a services request and my congressman did another one; at the end they said something about biometric. My congressman replied that my biometric were done on Oct. 3, 2007. Finally I received what I though was the answer to all my prayers...the CPO email on June 13, 2008....but nothing happed...I am still waiting.
Today I was told by one of the customer service lady to file form I-90....that's going to be my next step....and I will wait and wait I guess. :(

So,

here are the different actions taken/to be taken by us at the various times:

1) Filed DHS7001 when 30 days were up with Ombudsman. Got a response from them that we have to wait 45 days to hear from USCIS with a response to our query. Current Status: Waiting for some form of communcation from USCIS within the next 30-45 days.

2) Waiting for 60 days to be up to call USCIS and request an SR. Current Status: Waiting on 60 days (next week)
3) Waiting for 60 days to call lawyer and ask them to initiate a query with USCIS. Current Status: Waiting on 60 days (next week)
4) Infopass appointment tomorrow to see what they will have to say. We also hope that they will oblige to stamp the passport this time with a temporary I-551. Current Status: Appointment tomorrow with 2 desirable outcomes: a) a new biometrics apointment notice.
5) File G-731 after 90 days. Current Status: Waiting for 90 days which will be sometime in August.

png818,

Good luck to you! But, be aware that I-90 is not guaranteed to work either. See the following 2 case examples reported in Ombudsman's 2008 report to congress:

Case 1:
An individual filed Form I-90 (Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card) for a replacement green card in summer 2002. USCIS approved it, but the applicant never received the card. USCIS personnel told the applicant to reapply. The second application was approved and a replacement card was produced in 2005, but the applicant again did not receive the card. In summer 2007, the applicant contacted the Ombudsman. The Ombudsman determined that, although the applicant had timely filed a change of address with USCIS, the card was not received due to USCIS’ failure to update the new mailing address. In 2007, USCIS notified the individual that the application had been deemed abandoned. The Ombudsman referred the matter to USCIS, and the applicant was scheduled for biometrics in February 2008, but the individual has yet to receive the replacement card.

Case 2:
An applicant filed Form I-751 (Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence) in December 1995. USCIS approved the application in February 1998. The applicant did not receive the green card and filed Form I-90 (Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card) three times, in March 2004, September 2005, and October 2005. The applicant also was fingerprinted several times throughout this period. In February 2007, the applicant finally received the green card which expired ten days later. On the same day, the applicant filed another Form I-90 to replace the green card just received. As of February 2008, the applicant was still awaiting a replacement green card.

arihant,
Yes I visited ASC with the notice to find out where were my biometrics. I did not ask them to do my Bio. again as all I wanted to find out then if they, ASC, can send an email or any update to TSC after looking at my details and where they sent my Bio. as I had an EAC receipt from Vermont but my case was adjudicated in TSC. That was it I was told there that I need to get an infopass appointment. My Bio was found as reported by the IO, my previous post has detials, so I did not have to go for another Biometrics.

7/9/2008: LUD date changed w/o content chnaged
7/11/2008: Went for INFOPASS appointment to confirm the mailing address (moved on 2/12/2008)

arihant,
As you have an Infopass tomorrow I think you wanna ask the IO that if new Biometric will be required. If he/she says yes then get something in writing, not sure if they will give, to go for your wife's new Bio. I'm not sure if you just land up at ASC requesting Biometrics again with original receipt will work but can be worth a shot. I guess the infopass will spill the beans tomorrow... do us a favor..take some prinouts from trackitt and show it to dumb and dumbers about our plight :)

hi

so i'm a little confused as to the correct order of things received in the mail (kinda just waiting, i guess):

5/2 Welcome Notice in mail (waited 60 days, still no card, so i called them and a very sweet lady said she didn't see any reason why i hadn't received the card, and everything was in order. she said she emailed the case officer to push the case through, but i was skepctical...)

6/7 Email case update (and status online): card production ordered, wait 30 days to receive card.

6/11 Email case update (and staus online): I485 Approval notice sent. (only other thing they say on there is to wait for notice and follow instructions on it).

still haven't received the card, but i have a couple of questions: is this the general order that notifications are received? just because the card production notice is no longer up there, it doesn't mean card production was stopped or anything, does it? just a little anxious... thank you so much for any input! :)

In Many instances (including mine) Approval Notice Sent LUD/email comes after CPO LUD/email. There is no clear explanation about what this means. SOme believe that the Approval notice sent LUD/email is an indication that the card has been posted. I, personally, do not believe that is the case, even though I do not a have an explanation myself. There is another school of thought that the approval notice sent is an indication that it is posted to the Laywer.

Anyway, the bottom line is that many people typically get three updates: Welcome Notice, CPO and Approval Notice Sent. People may get these in different orders. However, there are many examples where people may get only a couple of these notices before receiving the physical card.

Agreed! I have seen so many different combination recently!

The bottom line is we need to receive the actual card!!!! It doesn't matter what kind of order of notice we received!!!!!

Hi,

I am sorry if this has been answered, but I am quite confused. I got some approval notices in the mail and I got the physical green card. I've been reading this board and it seems I have to go to INFOPASS to get a passport stamp? Or do I no longer need to do that? Should I be expecting any more mail on what to do? I got a welcome letter together with the card, but it did not mention anything about infopass...

Thanks and congrats to all!

Passport stamp is given to those who was approved but did not recieve the card. It is kind of a green card substitute
So you don't have to (and actually can not) get it.

Did they first tell you that your Biometrics were found and generated a CPO first and then today they told you that your Bios. were not found?
Please refresh my memory about your previous IO encounter over the phone.
Thanks.

My case- I was told end of June that my Bio were found...then a date change in CPO from May 31st to July 3rd.
No card yet but curious to know what were you told when you had called a while ago.

Arihant has a infopass today and he'll update us of his experience later today.

Went to the PASS-NO-INFO... uh... INFOPASS appointment today. Waste of time and gas. The IO told me that she will send an email. After that I saw her write an email. She hunted for the correct email address for a few minutes. She even asked the IO in the next window. Finally, she typed some email address and put something into the body of the email. I could see all these partially from the side of her screen. I could not read anything. SO, I do not know what address she typed or the body of the email. That was it. She refused my next two requests point blank: 1) to generate a new biometrics notice; 2) to stamp a temporary I-551. When I pestered her about the I-551, she was adamant and said she cannot do it.

So, we are back to square one. No LUD yet on my wife's case. The wait goes on. We will take the next set of actions next week after 60 days are up.

Good luck to every one else waiting on your cards.

Arihant..sorry to hear about the NO-INFO-PASS appointment. Well, at least she did send an email. Hope in To: it was not her own email :0)
So you did not take an Itinerary to show that a travel was planned and the card is not here yet? Why would she not stamp the passport as she can see that you have been waiting for the card for so long? Did she give you a reason?
Did she also tell you the reason for the delay...as she could see in the system?

This is getting ridiculous:

So after yesterdays post, I found my original ASC biometrics appt notice, took a chance and went over today (even though I was told to go only on Saturdays) turns out they were quiet so it was ok. They initially shook their head at me for turning up with an old appt notice, but the supervisor did some research on it, called me into his office, and showed me my bios and pictures in the system. He said they are lazy in TSC and just don't want to do the work. He said he would process me with a "code 2" anyway, which was just an index finger print, picture and signature.

So I called the TSC when I got back, and they still said bios are missing, I told them about my experience at ASC and they didn't really know, but said they would initiate a search to IT for my bios.

Then a few minutes ago I get a CRIS email that my status has reverted to: "On September 27, 2007 we transferred" bla bla bla, saying they transferred my case to Texas, which I knew. So I called TSC again, spoke to same IO as earlier. She said that they case was still approved, but that they are scheduling me for a new biometrics appointment. So I just have to wait for that to come in the mail.....

Is anyone else hitting dead ends in trying to get the TSC to track down their biometrics?

Ouch!! that sux man but you at least got you Biometrics done. I was told by an IO that my biometrics data was found and linked now all they have to do is produce/print the card. Though I have not called yet but plannig to call tomorrow. I will keep my fingers crossed and hope now they don't tell me "oh we can't locate your biometrics"...I'll actually faint!!

i do have one more question, though. my husband received his GC weeks ago (primary) and he flew out and back in. he was detained at LAX a couple hours because they said his SS and DMV info was not updated to show perm res status. does this mean i have to go to the DMV, etc, and change something? does anyone have any info on this? thanks much.

I had finally called. Got the same reply that it's in Production and I should get it soon. I did talk to an IO.
The only good part was that I confirmed about my Biometrics and she said Yes, they are all there (if not giving me BS). I was not wanting to hear that they cannot find it as that can happen with TSC after 2 weeks they can tell something different. So that was a relief.
Nuttin much to report from my side. Anyone with any new update?

Texandude,

It seems you have much better luck when calling USCIS, seeing how the IO WILLING to LOOK UP your Biometric.

I NEVER have good luck talking with the IO. All they say is basically:

1) NO, they will NOT check my case status until 45 days (sometimes they said 60 days) has passed from the CPO date (1st CPO was May 28, then changed to June 30th)

2) I got a Service For Request (SFR) number issued by the USCIS Local Office IO, which is an internal number used by the IO to expedite CPO request. This is different than the receipt number. SFR # issued on July 3rd. Local IO told me to call the the 1-800 3 weeks after this. Again, called 1-800 and same result as no. 1

3) My wife received a "Welcome Notice" on June 30 and it said to "...call after 3 WEEKS if you have not receive your card". Again, same result as no. 1

Please correct me, is the number below what you use to talk to an IO (NOT Customer Service):

- 1-800-375-5283
- Press: 1,2,2,6,1
- Enter Receipt Number
- Press: 1,1,3,1

ON the 4th bullet, originally I pressed 1,1,3,4 but the "4" doesn't do anything (doesn't exist).

I just want to get the truth here because all USCIS does is change the CPO date and told me to wait another 30-45-60 days. This doesn't make senses, because it'll end up like this:

1) CPO: May 28th
Wait 30 days: June 29th

2) CPO: June 30th
Wait 30 days: July 31st

Then if they change the CPO to August 1, I have to wait another 30 days.

lanwarrior,
Sorry to hear about IOs response. I use the same combination on the phone to reach an IO.
Their response to me has not helped. All they say is it's in production facility and there's a backlog. Duh!! I know that but they dont give exact time frame. One of them said she will send an reminder email but I guess that never happened.
We have to find a better way to get over this delay. Arihant mentioned some good options in his post on this thread.

Do we all, stuck in this situation, together unite and send a letter to the Senator/Congresman/USCIS Director?
What do you all think about that.

Our case have lot in Common.
1. Cases Approved
2. Cases adjudicated in TSC.
3. No definate answers given to us. Every time it changes when we talk to an IO
4. Wait already near 60 days or more
5.Anything more you can come up with we can mention

I agreed. We need to get involvements from the higher ups. Err.. did the Senator "proclaim" he/she will look into this or we just send a letter to local Senator? Diane Feinstein (CA Senior Senator) is quite pro-immigration.

3. Mail the letters on the same day/time to all of the recepients we identify

Thanks for the nice word, anotheraugfile.

Problem is, many people in this THREAD experience MORE than 1 month wait without any reason for the TEXAS service center.
In my cases, USCIS just kept on changing the CPO. Here's a recap of my case:

- May 28: CPO
- 30 days passed, no card
- Called 3 times before advised to make InfoPass
- June 30: date of CPO CHANGED
- July 3: InfoPass visit, IO created a Service Request to expedite the card and gave me a SR number for this. Told to call within 3 weeks
- TODAY: 3 weeks has passed, called IO and told to wait 60 DAYS.

No explanation, nothing.
