Topic: Any predictions on August 2008 VB - India EB3
Posted by ShangriLa (1024) 10 Jul 2008
Shailendra B. Purohit: Salt will lower the melting point, not lower the temp. Galat ho to batana, EB1 to aap hai :=)

Purohit: Again, melting pt would lower, but temp would not lower by adding salt to ice.

Arre Purohit? Bura maan gaye? To phir you would be an expert in mitochondria internals & genetics?

As a layman, my guess is that genetics would play 70+% role in disease prediction?

I applied for EAD in 2nd week of June and approved for only One Year . I guess is chances of my PD April 2002 can be current in next fiscal Year.Thats the reason he migh have issued for only one year .

Please post comments on this.

Mine is EB3 2003, and the EAD was approved with one year validity. By not giving a clear guidline, USCIS has left us on the mercy of IOs to decide our fate. They are free to keep issuing us 1 year EAD, and by doing so they are helping USCIS in collection of fund for USCIS operations.

reddy: Only applications received on or after July 1 would be considered for the 2 yr EADs.

am36, thanx for your great response.
I think, in my case, I will just hold my breathe and stick to my EB3 case. If I can wait for 5-7 years then I should able hang-on for another couple of years. I don't want to screw-up the situation anymore.

gcdedoyaar (by the way nice user name),
I guess you should go through a very good lawyer, just to find out whether your thought switch to EB1 is right or not. As I understand, EB1 has certain criteria and once you are sure to meet them then I think it's worth trying. This category should be pretty fast.

I know there are some bills in senate like some immigration bills and "Visa recapture" and "eliminate per country limits" will significantly reduce waiting period for Country like India and China, If those bills are passed then your assmption of 5-7 yrs waiting may be correct. I personally feel these bills will not be passed easily and it will be unfair with ROW.

I am thinking of changing Job and switch to EB2 with 8 yrs experiance, in EB2 chances of getting GC is more because of spill over from EB1, as EB2 is consuming all spill overs nothing is going to come in EB3 I

Dear LifeSentansEB3,

yesterday we were discussing about spill over from EB1 to EB2 and not coming to EB3 I, see visa bulletin exact same thing happened, I am telling you man, we need to convert to EB2 if we wan't to get out of this endless wait.

If the law does not change - any time in 2020, 12 years from now.

Original post from GCwander:

:-) So according to your estimate - I already waited for 5 years till now + another 2 years of waiting period. That's part of whole ridicule. This wait excludes my previous GC that had PD of April 2001, which was gone with the wind as company got closed.

Anyway, is there a way I could think of swtiching to EB2 at this stage? Or, may be I should take your advice, close my eyes and wait for another 2 years
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't close your eyes and wait. Write to lawmakers, senators, go to immigration rally in DC or wahtever it takes. The rest or the people will be happy to see EB3 Indians here for a long time so they can benefit from it (and that includes a handful EB2 or EB1 Indians).

whatever v do, the hispanic lobby for cherry pickers and pant lickers, citing bias towards educated & legal tax-payers, will thwart any kind of piecemeal rescue bill that congress(wo)men bring forth.
