Topic: Lets discuss the possibilities as to why is it taking for ever for our applications?
I know we all are desp. waiting to get some sort of numbers like receipts for our applications made. Mine was made on 2nd July to NSC. I deep down know everything was perfect as far as submission, checks, documentations, paystub and tax papers..
Lets discuss the option (s) why.. or what could be the possible factors causing delays ?
1) May be I used white paper and black ink for my application?
2) May be I didnt add xoxo when I signing the pages?
3) May be just like someone said.. mailroom guy was down with seasonal allergies and used our applications as... instead?
4) May be my application was slightly over 1 lb?
5) May be looking at my pictures on the application.. the reviewer thought I have puton some weight, so to delay the processing..let me stress out and then ofcouse BINGo - lost weight?
6) or.. let me think.. Using my applications as stuffing for pillows, while at work?
Why..?
Any reasonings are welcome.

may be they sent some applications from Nebraska to Texas but the truck driver decided to take some vacations in Florida, then on his way back he received another shipment to california and he tought, what the heck, I will deliver those envelopes next week. then he forgot about them and they are probably somewhere in Nevada as evidence of the Alien presence in the US.....
I dont know. I'm in an anxiety crisis and by the way. my attorney hate me, I need to work with her because is the policy of my company. but I cant talk to her anymore...
|
Sounds like story of my life..
And guess what.. after sending her email asking fate of my application.. i still have to add a line sayingTHANKs and Best wishes.
What a Crappppp

Hi,
My situation is the same. It has been almost 11 weeks since we filed with NSC. No receipt number or cheques cashed. I have been trying to contact my attorney. When I contacted him three weeks ago, he asked me to wait for some more time. These days, his secretary is not even connecting my call to him. She always answers that he is either busy aor with a client. In the last two weeks, she never connected my call to my attorney.

i think we should all drive up to thir office in to get our receipt numbers!
since our lawyers dont help us. my lawyer charged me $5000 but it looks like i work for him. he is not working for me.
my duty to call him and get crappy answere oh he is not avalible.
Isn't it frustrating.

whatt I think is that we all should put pressure on the lawyers at the same time one of this days ( even if you got your RN)
so in that way they called UScis to get theirs asses moving once for all.
remember your lawyer works for you !!

I emailed my lawyer/paralegal to ask if the checks have been cashed, and was told to wait patiently and that I can request them from my bank if I wrote the checks myself. DUH! I think I would've done that thank you very much.
If it wasn't my company paying for the lawyer, I would've seriously flipped out for paying some jackass to treat me like a child.
|
Add me to the list. I am waiting for them too and fighting for the last spot. All the people who filed after me at my office got their receipts back this month. My case reached first and now I am the last one to wait for it. My lawyer is a OK guy, but he takes too many vacations out of country and sends emails from his blackberry to his paralegal who responds after 1-2 weeks.
|
After I got my receipts, I wrote my lawyer about our continuing lawyer-client relationship and he gave me assurances that absolutely, it will continue until the conclusion of my case. My lawyer is very approachable and you can contact him anytime. He also answers e-mail.
So far, my application is on track. My receipt notice came on the week I expect it to come (by using trackitt to predict). I am predicting that my EAD will be received on first week of November as of current trend. However, it can go up to December once the July applications started to kick-in.
|
congratulations on your receipts JunRN.
I'm guessing you paid for the lawyer. As for mine, it's company paid. They even give me some notice saying I understand he works for both me & my employer and when conflicts arise he's primarily working for the employer. I guess this covers them in case I want to file suit (these guys are good).
|
Yeah, you're right I paid for my lawyer (4,000 USD). It is a bit tricky though because my lawyer is also my petitioner's lawyer. The petitioner doesn't pay for my I-485/EAD but good thing, I don't have a term contract with the petitioner (Nurses usually get term contracts if the petitioner pays for everything).
I also asked my lawyer if the petitioner is a good employer with good financial standing and he answered "yes". The advantage of having the same lawyer is about the paper-works. It is easy to get all the paperworks for the petition and AOS all together. When I applied for I-140/485/EAD concurrently, I needed all papers from the petitioner and the lawyer's office already got everything. All I needed was to submit all my papers and that's it, everything was ready.
Now, regarding conflict which I see not forthcoming, I think the lawyer will side on the employer because it is a bigger client. And I think that will be the time to get another lawyer. Though, I am pretty sure that conflict will not come as my employer, the owner itself, is a good man. I met him and even talked with him. He understands my situation and even, willing to adjust to my circumstances.

No no.. These lawyers know that we are not dumb, but instead they know we are immgrant fools tied to specific employer til we get our EADs and.. they very well know that they dont have to be loyal to their clients like us, but THEY will always be loyal to employers of clients like us, since they represent dual phases. Also they know what cultural background we come from, where we believe in Chalta hai Bhai feeling. They r pushing my patience to the last extend. I am biting my tongue only coz my case is represented as dual factor by my attorney, eventhough I shelled out 5-6,000 from my pocket. Whole darn work, I do and my attorney gets to sign the papers, only coz employers trust these attornies with their info (as if we dont know whats happening).
The day I get my stuff cleared EAD, AP and AOS, I will publish a open email to my attorney explaining that what kind of dumbshit business they run and they need to STOP treating good fellas like us like crap. You show respect, you get respect back.
Every DUCK has its day.. I will have mine too...**SOON**

That's amazing, some how we need to make public or create a black list with the worst attorneys, they must understand that with no immigrants there is no bussines for them.
Dont you think that may be they really wish that immigration system remain same with no changes? no GC nor H1b increase quota, looks like is highly profitable for them to have a poor immigration system as it is right know.
Well, it is thursday another day, lets see if today is the day to have our receipt number, checks cashed and life moving on, to me today is day 62 with nothing.

Yep exactly. You kinda stole my words from mouth. Its amazing how we all think on same terms, but we all need rallies to express our words.
No changes means more money power for these attornies

Hmm... looks like all of us think alike. I also think my lawyer and paralegal hate me. For last 3 months, I keep sending emails, never got replies properly; get frustrated and sent one bad mail with all the frustration per every 2/3 weeks. I used to get reply only for those angry mails. I don't think these lawyers understand our situation and anxiety.
485 received on 2nd July at NSC
PD: Nov 2003 EB2
Every day I check LUD, checks, nothing happens. Last week my lawyer says they are still getting receipts for June, July and August filers in random order; she also mentioned that they only got for 50% of June and July 2nd filers. But, I dont think its true. As per trackitt and thru my friends, I am not aware of anyone waiting for receipt who applied in June (I might be wrong). I do know very few people (like me) who applied on 2nd July that are still waiting; but majority of them got receipts and FP.
I appreciate trackitt.com; I would have been lot more anxious and frustrated if I had not seen all your messages and discussions. Thanks to Trackitt and all of you.
NSC and TSC should correct their frontlog reports and say that there are some exceptions like us.
Anyway, what will happen once we cross 90 days? Will they let us come to NSC or TSC and make us search for our applicatoins in the trash?
Keeping fingers crossed...,

Enigma ---
I think there have been cases where folks have got their green cards directly without EAD/AP. I see your PD is 2003, you might get lucky in October.
BTW, haven't heard "enigma" in years...COLDPLAY is my favorite these days...

My 100th day with nothing ---- I filed my 485 & EAD to NE on 6/12/07. No receipt and no check cashed. Tried to call USCIS after 90 days. The ONLY thing she said is "you are not in the system." Nothing she can do about it. So frustrating!
|
Today I called the USCIS CSR and got the recept number. I did file in NEB on July 25th and case has been transferred to TX. Notice date is Sept 19.
|
I just called USCIS. The lady said *backlog* applications (filed in june last week and july 1st week) are being checked special management group, so please call us back in 7 days pref between 27th Sept to 4th October.
Wow. I just realised we are part of special group now !
|
I called USCIS and I got them my 3 receipts start with WAC even I submitted to Nebraska, by the way do you know where is WAC from?
Thanks
|
Wow, it is kinda sad that you get treated this way even though you paid out of pocket.
There has to be something wrong with that picture. If only we are allowed to file complaints with the BBB for them dragging.
Thats the thing though. they are so good. They don't do anything wrong like mess up your greencard app, but somehow they always find time to prolong the end result. I filled out most forms on my lawyer's website, and it took 2 weeks to get assigned to a person and another week to get a draft ( of what I filled out ).
|
Congrats.. WAC is from California
|
Their entire system is a mess. They don't even know how to handle the applications now.
Calling them is not helpful or in some cases it is. I think the best bet is to just wait. Yeah "wait" does sound that we all don't wanna hear but it's just the way USCIS works. Not sure if their system will ever improve. You can hear the same stories from people who got their GCs but had to thru all the BS. What has changed is information sharing from this wonderful site trackitt. Other than that I don't think so they have put in place a sturctured system. Then on top of that we have our Lawyers, or Liars and then we have unethical employers. In short getting a GC is like a big project.
|
I am a July 2 filer and still didn't get receipt or cashed cheque (last week status according to the lawyer). Frustrated. So you are not alone.
|
Nope. I didnt choose to wait anymore. This afternoon I emailed complaints to Senator, USCIS Attorney general and My congressmen, asking for justifications.
I am waiting their responses. I am done waiting for Uscis to pickup my file and give me just one dumb receipt number
Even hens hatch eggs faster than that.
