After seeing your post title i thought that Oct 2008 Visa Bulletin is already out.
Post titles are creating confusion....

I have a question:
My girlfriend is an Australia citizen living in USA with an O-1 Visa. Unfortunately, last March, she renewed her passport via mail and the Consulate sent her back the new passport but kept the old one (which contained her O-1 Visa). She traveled to Australia last month and on the the way back, she was stopped at US immigration for several hours because she didnt have her visa. Fortunately, the US government was able to verify that she has an O-1 visa that expires July 2009, therefore, she was able to re-enter. Now, she needs to replace her visa. Does she has to go back to Australia to get the replacement visa or she can do it from USA since the US government has the information and the prove that she was an O-1? We already called the Australian Consulate in USA and they do not have record of the old passport. We also called the US embassy in Australia but it is impossible to talk to a human being. Everything is automated system.

Oscar,

Apparently going to Australia to get stamped makes sense. She can also go to Canada or Mexico to get stamped if she has all the relevant paperwork. I strongly suggest you to talk to an Immigration Attorney.

Best of luck.

Thank you.
Her attorney asked to call US embassy in Melbourne, but there is no way to talk to anyone. Everything is automated. She has the original paper work, however, she does not have her visa. So Canada or Mexico would not work because the US has to issue her visa first. Am I right?

If any bill will pass then only Eb3 go forword, otherwise just it goes to Jan or Jun 2003.

Rnamile,

When Shusterman says last june visa bulletin, he means June 2008 and not June 2007 whose link you've posted.

And could everyone just hold off for a few days ? Every other post is about visa capture and predictions. Don't expect any miracles to happen. Rome wasn't built in a day.
