SO I posted a little while ago as to when Name Check starts and was told it starts as soon as you file the I-485.
I called USCIS in August to check on my still-dormant AP and also asked about NC and was told my file still had not even been sent to FBI yet...
Was told by trackitt people this was simply not possible and I took your word for it... CS reps have always been off so I figured since no one else has been told this, I would go by the majority.
But today my husband called and asked about both of our NC and was told NEITHER have been sent to FBI yet although they were ready to be sent out "soon" (he refused to say when).
But he did say that when they were sent to FBI, we would see an LUD on our case (but no status change).
I'm beginning to get a little worried since this is 2 seperate reps telling us the SAME thing which doesn't happen often unless they are telling the truth.
Plz share.... Has ANYBODY ever gotten a reply like this?

I would not count much on these USCIS customer service people answering the phone as I realize day by day that they are not up-to-date, and do not have consistent answers. Try calling again and you will probably have a different answer.

As I mentioned we got the same reply on two seperate phone calls, two seperate reps, one month apart.. which is why I'm concerned...

I see... Did u try to make an infopass to make sure of the information you have instead of calling USCIS.

My husband is going to try and get an infopass appointment for this Friday but I was hoping to see if any trackitt users also got the same answer in the meantime...

Best to take an info pass appointment and ask the IO.
It is so strange. If possible request IO to ask the service center to send the name to FBI for NC as asap. And you take another appointment with the same IO within a couple of weeks and check it again whether they sent it fo NC.

Wellll, I'm very sorry for my question, but ... have you ever took a look on processing times? What could you expect when your apps are out of processing times yet? They even didn't start working on your case! :(

Exactly..as Jer1st said, I am looking for a case similar to mine - several months past RD but the case STILL has not been sent to NC (usual case is NC starts upon reciept of I-485).

Yes I have read it.. from your link : "The length of time it takes for a name check to be completed varies from name to name. Normally, a name is submitted by an agency, such as the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), on a data tape. The National Name Check Program (NNCP) receives over 62,000 name checks every week, with over 27,000 coming from USCIS on a weekly basis. "
so if they are sending it on a weekly basis, why has ours not been sent yet even though it has been sitting there for several months? And we all know it will be sitting in the FBI for several months more, I would just rather it be sitting in an FBI office where someone is potentially working on it (haha) instead of it just sitting in USCIS where it is gathering dust for an extra couple of months before it even gets to FBI..

I had this reply once. But after I placed an official inquiry, I got an answer that NC was initiated just 3 days after my case RD.

Try Infopass. Ask specifically "when it was initiated" and/or write to FL.

It's First Lady. A lot of peolple get an official reply from FBI once they write to First Lady

Just wanted to let you all know in case someone is in the same mess.. my husband had an infopass appt today and was told his NC was initiated on Aug 4th (thats 3 wks past the Notice Date we got and a SATURDAY too but he didn't realize that when he was in there!!) and its still pending. Told him not to expect it to clear for 6 months.. whoop de do da.
He refused to tell him anything about my NC as I was not present, which sux as my husband lives 5 hours away and I'm a grad student so I usually don't go there very often (he's the one who commutes), and the nearest place where I can do my own infopass is 4 hours in the OPPOSITE direction of where he lives.
Either way, I'm glad his NC is started, it means mine potentially did and I'm sure theres going to be more delays in his name than mind so its good that he's at least started.
