I dont see any chance for folks with priority date Jan 2007 to get their GC in 1 year time frame. I thought two months ago, may be yes but now looking at the bulletin, its blind luck if I get GC in near term.

unless they approve the visa recapture bill, there is absolutely no chance of these cases gat approved in quick time.
USCIS is not even using all the visa numbers on a year quota. this is pathetic to say the least. only lately they came to realization that the backlog is so much that they are seriously trying to utilize all the visa numbers. thats the reason, they moved the priority dates to 2006 so that they can approves cases which are very straight forward.

visa recapturing bill if passed will definitely help in preventing wastage of visas but the processing times and other rules such as quota systm for individual countries may delay issuance of visa within the time frame. addressing the plight of indians who suffered a lot because of this is going to take a long time.

with americans are angry against indians who are taking away the jobs, its becoming tough for bills like these to pass.

Tough times ahead for indians.
any way good luck.

thats it.

as if canada is welcoming us.
right now, canada is also very strict buddy. They infact stopped issuing PR effective this october. I have seen this report because the conservative party has passed a bill that put restrictions on PR in canada

The visa recapture bill is not going to pass anytime soon. Look at the resistance to even discussing it in the committee.

Don't loose heart Gameover..

I am not a regular poster on this forum but sure a regular follower

I am an indian with PO April 2003 (EB2) my company filed Regular labour certification (Not RIR and no perm then)
my Labour approved only 2007 , Luckly July fiasco happend so I could concurrently file I140 and I485

Finger printed on Dec , From nowhere my I185 got approved (in TSC) August 5th (Yes even before I140), with in a week I got my I140 approved also. Received Welcome Notice August 15th and got my card on 19th. This is all in spite of me moved my residence after I filed I 1485 and I did not have Birth certificate I just filed two affidavits (My parents and Uncle).

So Don't Loose heart, Nothing is predictable with USCIS except that they are unpredictable.

If US govt can absorb my financial debts, I'm ready to leave this country for ever. How many are there like me??
I know GC is Gold, but it should be there when you need it. Even heaven is useless when you don't need it.................
