Topic: Physical Card and Card approval copies tracker
Here is the update from my side. After I called NSC twice, yesterday and day before and was told that my CP was not ordered as they could not track my Biometrics. The IO put a note to the IT dept and today I received the much long awaited email for CPO. I hope I will have it in my hand by next week.
Mehere, Arihant and Texandude I would suggest you to try calling the service center and ask them for bio- linking as this seems to be the much common problem with late CPO these days. My wife also had the same thing, hopefully taken care of now as received CPO email for her too.

GUys, I tried to call the CS but I could not get an option to TALK to the IO. What was the option number, do you guys remember?

Thanks guys! I called them and well.. here's the result:
1) I HAVE to wait 30 days BEFORE I can inquire about the whereabouts of my card (my CPO is 05/28)
2) CS will NOT check if I have the RIGHT address or whether the biometric FP is received or tied to the card production. See #1.
I called twice and same thing. They basically tell me "Nope, can't do anything for you until 30 days has passed. Call again in 5 days (June 30)".

Approved June 18th, 2008 Per USCIS case status.
Welcome notice mailed on June 19th, received today, June 23rd.
Card mailed on June 24th, received today, June 27th. It's over :)

Since it has been a month for me too (TSC), I'll call TSC tommorrow. I have also made an InfoPass appointment this week. I'll check the whereabout of my card and also ask for the stamp.
How do I request this stamp at InfoPass? Just ask for the I-551 stamp for "proof of PR"?
Also, is this stamp something that we can request on our own or the IO will ONLY give it based on their discretion? I.e. if I don't have compelling reason why I need, they won't give it to me. I am just wondering since I saw in this thread that the IO didn't want to give the stamp to someone.

That last option, 4, it's NOT the option to talk to the Immigration Officer. Option no. 4 is for:
"If you receive some documents but not all...".
I tried pressing other option for the last 5 minutes and couldn't get IO, ONLY Customer Service which I know will just tell me to wait another 30 days.

Law office will be making an inquiry for my case. They said it may be faster than simply calling them. Other details:

CPO: 5/28
No card yet.
For my spouse, I have received the following statement from the law office:
"they are having difficulties importing the image on to their system (presumably for the green card). They are working with their IT department to resolve the matter"

Yep that seems to be the issue and when I called last week, twice, I was told the same thing. The officer did send an email to the IT department and today my status changed....it was CPO on May 31st now the same message... with June 28th.

My 8-year old daughter's I-485 was approved in early April. She was asked to submit her biometrics in ASC on April 18. There was a soft LUD on April 20 and 21. Then nothing happened. After ~30 days, I called TSC. Then May 21, CPO email was received.
Then nothing happened in 20 days. I called TSC again, IO said there is glitch in their system, and "you should receive your card in 7 days." 7 days passed, that night (20 June) there was a soft LUD saying "On June 20, we ordered production of your new card ...". I waited for 7 days, nothing happened. Then on June 26, another soft LUD "On June 26, we ordered production of your new card..". Until now I haven't receive anything from them. What's the problem with TSC?

Biometrics for the entire family - 2 adults and one child, age 11 - were done on the same day in NYC: 11/01/2007. Full biometrics including photos - the photos I recognized on the newly printed greencards.

OK, I called USCIS 3 times and the result is totally UNEXPECTED.
Before I start, this is the status of my case BEFORE calling today (for both spouse and myself):
I-485 approval mail: 05/27/08
CPO: 05/28/08 (Online case)
When I called (by pressing 1-800-375-5283, press 1, 2, 2, 6, 1, receipt #, press 1,1, 3, 4):
FIRST CALL: CS said card ordered. That's it, full stop. Said don't know why I didn't receive it. Told me to wait ANOTHER 30 days.
SECOND CALL: CS said card MAILED 05/28/08. That's impossible because CPO is 05/28/08. CS said don't know, contact USPS
Note that I get CS all the time, not IO for some reason.
Oook.. so these 2 are idiots obviously. I tried for the 3rd time and this time I press 1,2,2 and didn't press anything and went to a live person (don't know if this is IO or CS) and here goes:
THIRD CALL:
1. SELF
Was told that my card is ordered TODAY. I told the IO that CPO was originally 05/28, so what happened to that? He said he doesn't know. Just wait for ANOTHER 30 days. WTH???
2. SPOUSE
Was told that a USCIS Notice has been sent to my home address and she will be required to visit a USCIS local office. I asked why, he said he doesn't know. WTH2???
I checked my USCIS case online and it CHANGED to this:
1. SELF: CPO changed to 06/30 from 05/28
2. SPOUSE: Status is now:
Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.
"On June 30, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed WITHIN 60 DAYS following this registration or after you complete ANY ADIT (wth is this????) processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later...."
Sounds scary, especially that ADIT part...
It seems that after calling 3 times, USCIS or TSC "realize" something is wrong with my case (they must've a way to track how many times I call) and suddenly BOTH cases updated today. Could be a coincidence, but I doubt it.
I don't know guys... I am so confused now and worse yet I have to wait ANOTHER 30 DAYS (60 days for my spouse). USCIS will NOT entertain my inquiry if I don't wait ANOTHER 30 days. By that time, it'll be 60 days, but clearly something is wrong with USCIS or TSC but they don't want to check what happened.
This is **** bull***!

We recieved our cards and approval notice today from TSC via usps.
6/25/08:[email]-welcome notice
6/26/08:[email]-CPO
6/30/08:[USPS]-Recieved both cards and approval notice
We did not have any other emails come through..
I hope this info helps...I think all those who got new emails for CPO from TSC should see their cards in the mail this week.

Here is the final update from my side. Both my and my wife's green card ( they are actually cream color) arrived yesterday. the timeline was : TSC to NSC transferred case - NIW to EB1 relinking
6/11- approval notice email
6/16 - approval notice (USPS)
6/24 - called NSC to enquire about no CPO mails. IO put a note to the IT dept for linking biometrics.
6/25 - called again. same IO picked up ( though he didnt recognize me ) told that cards are in production.
6/25 - CPO email.
6/30 - Actual Cards arrived by mail.
Thats the end of journey for me. Now the new one to write grants etc starts>>>>>>>

Texandude, arihant , lanwarrior and all I sincerely hope that you guys will see ur card latest by next week. I am guessing this for the reason that if USCIS had probelm in updating ur bio's, they realized it within 30 days and must have rectified it and sent you the new CPO email. I will hangaround in the forum to bid you guys farewell.

When I went to FP, the guy gave me a piece of paper to answer some questions and to write my address. Since my appointment notice showed my attorney address he scratched the address I wrote and he wrote my attorney address... my question is; is this the address where my card will be sent? Anyone in this forum with the same experience and that have already received her/his card?

Why would I care about the Approval Notice if I have already received the PR card? Anyways, to answer your question, Yes I did, the same day as I received the card. I edited my previous post to reflect that. |
I think approval notice is helpful if one has not received the physical card and need to get an I-551 stamp on the passport.
The IO will then request for an approval notice.

hi
so i'm a little confused as to the correct order of things received in the mail (kinda just waiting, i guess):
5/2 Welcome Notice in mail (waited 60 days, still no card, so i called them and a very sweet lady said she didn't see any reason why i hadn't received the card, and everything was in order. she said she emailed the case officer to push the case through, but i was skepctical...)
6/7 Email case update (and status online): card production ordered, wait 30 days to receive card.
6/11 Email case update (and staus online): I485 Approval notice sent. (only other thing they say on there is to wait for notice and follow instructions on it).
still haven't received the card, but i have a couple of questions: is this the general order that notifications are received? just because the card production notice is no longer up there, it doesn't mean card production was stopped or anything, does it? just a little anxious... thank you so much for any input! :)
