Topic: An emotional day - "Card Production Ordered"
My parents sent me to US when I was only 15 as a high school F-1 student. Now I am 32, married, have a 2 yr old daughter and expecting a boy next year. I have gone thru F-1, H-1B, E-2 spouse visa and now greencard coming. All these years, I was NEVER out of status, and kept almost all INS/USCIS documents. I have 17 year old I-20, which is about to fall apart. It has been a long ride. Today is an emotional day for my family. There were endless prayers. There were days that I just wanted to give up and withdraw the I-140/485 – People think irrationally under stress. There were many nights that I was just stupidly keep checking the online status. There were days that I checked the status from work every 20 minutes and couldn't concentrate especially the last 5 days after RFE was submitted. I would check my status while I am still in bed via my BlackBerry. I’ve read numerous documents and wanted to point out that the "standard op" pdf was the most helpful which I got the link from this website. I've gain tremendous amount of knowledge through this website.
This morning everything came to the end. My blackberry alarm woke me up. From my bed I checked the status. It said they got the RFE – nothing changed. Ok. I got up and walked to my desktop. Just like my habit, I ran my FireFox Macro plug-in to login to the USCIS site. I saw LUD! I didn’t expecting much. I clicked on it and it said “Card Production Ordered”. I started making calls to my families. I took a shower thinking that this was a dream. So after I got out of the shower, I checked again. In this time, CRIS email notifications were sent. This is my story. Thank you everyone.
**my company made me sign that if I leave within 2 yrs, I will have to reimburse all GC related cost. Also attorney office who handles all my company’s immigration issues made so many obvious mistakes. Many typos and incorrect #’s they put on my applications. We MUST all check all details of our applications before we sign. There are many good lawyers out there but some don’t care much.

Emotional indeed! Congratulations and enjoy the rest of your fulfilled life in the land of the free!
As someone else mentioned, you should share your story with the rest of the world. Send a note to all the major news papers in the U.S and help make a difference in the life of many who are going through the same journey.
I'm curious to know how you will get out of the habit of checking your online status on the USCIS site first thing in the morning :)

Jacobsung, great ending to a great story!! ENJOY!!! I have a question - are you planning on staying 2 more years w/ your company? I am in the same boat (no approval yet though) and I am not sure how to handle this 2-year requirement... Once the time comes of course..

Jacob Sung, My sincere congratulations to you and your family. You truly represent the agony and ecstasy of legal immigrant community in this country who are waiting eagerly for freedom with all the persistence and confidence on this legal system by holding on to some ray of hope. You are finally rewarded. I came here when I was 23 and now I am 33, counting days and months and years and decades too..

Good luck in your future ! Indeed it was emotional day for you. Many people here understand those emotions better way. Have your free life, find most dream job & keep your life in good direction. Help anyone was struggling on emmigration situation in future , be in touch with this site. Your next target would be Citizenship but you achived biggest mile stone so take some rest for 5 years until your Citiznship application & watching updates on it after 5 years. Hope by then USCIS processing method might be improved. I am happy for you.

This is one of the day you must remember in your life.

There is nothing to feel 'so' much emotional about it.
You have not suffered much as much as lot of others in my opinion. You applied in April 2007 and got your greencard in Dec 2007. This is not even one year of wait time.
Compare yourself with people like kamaljeet
http://www.trackitt.com/discussion-forums/i485-1/46680379/
who have been waiting since 2001 and were stuck in namecheck even though his date was current.
You do not have my sympathy. But congratulations anyway and enjoy your greencard.
