Topic: 2 Jobs possible on EAD?
Posted by nshah (8) 10 Dec 2007
Guys,

My wife got her EAD card (was on H4 before) and is currently working. Does EAD card permit to work for more than one employer?

Thanks

EAD permits to your work on more tahn one job or begin your own business. It much safer for the dependent than the priciple applicant to avoid any future complications.

zest2003, well, if you call 'much safer for dependent' to leave US in case primary's 485 get denied, apply new H4 from abroad and then come here, then you are absolutely right.

Yes. She needs to file I-9 with each employer though -- http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-9.pdf

:-) :-) :-) :-)

In the sense that it does not affect the principal's H visa, and thus allows for re-obtaining H-4 should need be? Then yes.

How about if one takes leave from principal sponsor and works for another employer for a period? My prinicipal employer has applied for H1B renewal but I am taking a leave next month to start another job for a year. Since use of EAD voids H1B I guess I have to use EAD in both the places, isn't it?

Can I get a job with this employer? One year leave? are they paying you too?

:) OF course not, no salary, no benefits. Its like I am putting this job on probabtion while I work elsewhere. I will have one year to decide whether I want to come back and re-join them.
