Topic: EAD(fingerprinting)
Posted by Stride (18) 02 Jul 2008
My family got fingerprinted today and had pictures taken. The appointment listed I-140 and I765. One of the workers told us to expect our EADs in 90 days. Have any of you recieved yours in less time?

To clear things up. My father is the primary person. His job is sponsoring his green card and we filed i140 and i485 concurrently so they should come around the same time. I start college this fall and I would like to be able to work before then. Any answers or advice welcome. I also have another question. MY drivers license just expired. We are now on "S" status so im not sure whether i can renew it since our visa expired on the 30th but we are still legal here as long as this process is being taken care of.

EAD can take from 10 days to over 100 days. Expect the unexpected with USCIS! Mine is 50 days and counting!

If your drivers license was issued by a state of the USA, then you can use it to renew it, that should not be a problem. I have renewed mine without getting any immigration issue involved.

Yes, your current status is PENDING PERMANENT RESIDENT APPLICANT; you can stay in the USA until a decision is made on your AOS, but you do need AP to travel and EAD to work. And if they ask you about your immigration status at the Drivers License (DPS) you can show them your receipt notice of your AOS.

Had my FP (code 3) taken on July 1st as my EAD has been pending for over 180 days. Went to INFOPASS and was directed to take FP again (and photo). Do not see any LUD on my application, though. Is this normal? Anyone in similar situation?

No, this is not normal. They messed up on your original FP.

I filed for my EAD renewal (E-Filing) last month, I did my biometric (fingerprinting) today. All they did is to take the print of my Index Finger and take my picture and that's it. I did'nt even finished filling up my personal information form . Is this the normal process? Can you guys please share your fingerprinting experience for EAD Renewal (e-file)

Happy 4th, of July to everyone Thanks

to c32bvtec, I'm EB category, September last year i filed I-I485 (AOS) and I-765 (EAD) the Immigration Officer took fingerprints of all my fingers, what I'm saying now is that my EAD is to expire in September thus I filed for renewal (E-file). Now the immigration offficer just took the prints of my right index finger. Is this something normal ?

Yes, this is normal. I also had all fingers and thumbs scanned, picture taken, and signature last August. This was for AOS.

I e-filed for an EAD on May 14, '08; I had my picture taken and right index finger scanned on June 4, '08.
