LATER I WAS ASKED TO SEND A COPY OF MY U. S. PASSPORT AND I SENT IT AND RECEIVED ACKNOWLEDGEMENT # 70053110000285326292 DATED 13TH FEB. 2007. MY REGISTRATION # IS USAH10980806. PLEASE LET US KNOW ABOUT THE STATUS OF MY OCI CARD. THANKS.

This is BS. People with US passports should not be eligible for OCI. Why is the Indian government doing this ?

OCI (Overseas Citizens of India) is only for people holding non-Indian passport... If you've Indian passport, you don't need OCI...

On the OCI Enquiry Screen, under 'Application Status', it says to contact the Mission Office after 10 days from date of despatch. But it doesn't say who to contact (no phone # or e-mail ID). If you call the phone # posted on the NY Consulate web site, no one will answer the phone. Any suggestions ........
