Topic: about the processing of the permanent residence in Canada (landed immigrant)
Posted by mariasofia (2) 13 Mar 2007
I have sent all the documents required and I still have to undertake the medical examination and send the results etc
the problem is that that I am studying Translation at university and it is going to take me 3 years more and i would like to know what i have to do to get an extension of my processing. i cannot go to canada yet! i need 3 years more to finish my university studies. is it possible to do this? what do i have to do? can i stop sending the required documents to the visa section for the time being in order to slow down the processing?

I believe that if you don't send it within a certain time period that your application will be dropped as well as the fees that you paid will be lost. Maybe you should ask them this question when / if they require an interview.

You can land in Canada (become PR) first, then go back to finish your study. You are allowed up to 3 years outside Canada without losing your PR status.
