This is the notification where FBI and USCIS have published 'target dates' to clear the name check backlog.

Does this apply only to NATURALIZATION applications? (Because there are 1000's more applicantions ie: waivers on grounds of inadmissibility that are in backlog also.)

My question is the same as anonymous posted April 18, 2008 ... any hope the backlog clearance of FBI background checks will apply to waivers on grounds of inadmissibility?? Thanks.

Not sure of the answer but is it coincidence that I just received FBI clearance 6 months to the day after it went for security checks?????

In response to your comment, was your security check on a waiver on grounds of inadmissibility??

It was an I-192, Grounds of Inadmissibility.

As ever with the uscis it is not 100% clear, but my interpretation of this memo is that this applies to ALL FBI Name Checks and not just naturlaization. My belief is that this is a goal being put in place by the FBI to have a maximum 90 day turnaround for all FBI Name Check requests in the future. It should not matter what the underlying applicaiton is for, the FBI Name Check should be the same.
