Topic: Where are the EB3 India folks?
I am EB3 , mar 2003 India. Just hoping that I get my GC before my 7th grader son goes to college. |

I don't see a ray of hope at all for the EB3 Indians in the near future. People looking for migrating to Canada or keeping it as a backup plan, please note the job opportunities are way less than here. I had got my PR in Jun 2004, but could not find a suitable job there even tho my brother is a citizen there. I had to give up and surrender my cards as I did not meet the condition of staying there for 2 years in a 5 year time frame. I have school going kids one in elementary and other in Middle school. Its not even easy to take them back to India as they have been here for so long now.
But I would say just sit tight and see how it goes. I will be invoking my AC 21 in the coming months which is as good as a GC with some restrictions. We are at the mercy of this system and I think we cant do much to change the immigration rules.
If I do not get my GC here I would just say it was not there for me.

I don't think there is any hope for this bill specially when the media is against it. Heard Lou Dobbs talking on CNN yesterday along with some radio hosts. Those dumb people are totally against it and don't even understand a bit of this bill. Why should they be comparing this bill to unemployment rates where as this for recognizing people who already are working for years and contibuting to the economy thru SS and other taxes. There are trying to send a wrong message to the common people. |

I agree, its a great news. Something we all had been looking forward to. But this system is so screwed up that it always puts in a spot to re-think about your plans. My company is currently at a stage of off-shoring the IT dept completely and in the coming 3-4 months we all here might be laid off. As a backup plan I am almost close to finalizing with another company and moving on AC-21. As predicted if the EB3 dates move to as it was in Jun 2007, I would have to again rethink and adjust my plans for staying with my current employer for some more time and not invoke AC-21. That's what our story has been all this while. Just want to get out of this mess ASAP. |
