What do you think the correct numbers are for 2008 and 2009? Do you have any date estimates for 2017 and 18, may be?

I am sorry, Was I talking to you?? No one cares about your pathetic point of view or your replies.. Looks like you are one of those one room universities Eb3 guy.. Dont worry "4watItsWorth" its really not worth to reply you.

The problem with you and 4-5 other idiots like you posting crap all day is that you are bringing this -- what used to be a useful forum, down. It has become a home to just idiots like you, driving all the sane people away. Eventually, it'll be the death of what used to be a source of great information at one point.

That wouldn't stop the cheap labor coming in. If you want to include the education then USCIS must make a list (Specially for indian universities as 85% h1b goes to India) which are accepted only. Undergrad colleges in India are in every corner and we all know curriculum for most of them. We also know that most of the universities are just one room universities. AICTE regulations are too loose to recognize.. AICTE gives affiliation universities wise and universities just distribute licenses to every tom dick and harry to operate an engineering college.

Once only good colleges comes in the line (may be top 100) then automatically cheap labor pouring in will reduce. Similarly for other countries. You fix H1b then automatically EB2/3 line will be fixed.

What the fork has become of this forum with some of you guys posting crap day in and day out! Most of us old timers do not even care to respond anymore. How I remember how useful it was at one point! Oh well..

Topic: Its been 10 years in US..Advise plz

I worked in US from 2000 to 2010 on H1B. I bought a 3 BHK flat in hometown and paid it off in 2006.
I had some 70/80 k in cash and went back in in 2010.

so more or less ~$200k in 10 years considering the flat was ~$130k. That's what I wanted to understand. It'll be nice to know how others have fared and what their investing / saving strategy has been.

It depends on every individual but if you have nice house in India, no loan, family support system, good job offer and good amount of saving, you can go back. How much cash you should have is again relative but general opinion is min Rs.1 crore or $200K with house already paid off. There are advantages and disadvantages of US or India. You can be happy or unhappy at both places. Either enjoy life here or go back and enjoy there.

$200,000 is not much. as an investment you may get $20,000 a year return or 13 lakhs Rs. a year without working.
this is something a guy with 1-5 years experience can make in india.
so even these people will go to india and work 9-6 job.
either way, for people beyond 2012, GC is kind of hopeless, so the point is to add more to the $200,000.
add to this every tom dick and harry is applying for EB1C these days. people are talking about this openly at the workplace. no hope for anybody else.

In 10 years, how much can you have put away? I mean, how much north of 200k can you go?

Guys...

Its been 10 years in US...my priority date 2010, no hope on GC...getting scared about the future. I am thinking to go back to India....make sense? Any advise plz?

More than 10 years so far, Late 2009 PD, no EAD. Too much invested here and missed out on all the vertical growth that I would have likely had in India during this time... So, India is not a good option anymore. Kind of stuck in a rock and a hard place.

Hahaha. Greater prediction! We should also create a PD prediction website like some of the other ones out there... someone enters late 2009 or 2010 for PD, simply say, "Not on your lifetime!" Easy money!

Also please book one way ticket for kumaread and whoever else is going for this meeting. Because after that meeting, they are going to escort him and his likes to the airport to take the flight back to India.

Of'course, it is your assumption that they are from India and one of you! It is a BIG assumption on a faceless forum.

OPT and EB-1C both are BIG problems,
but OPT never cannibalize anyone's GC prospects.

False. Fraud ROW guys get their GCs this way and eat into the total quota which should rightfully go to I, C. The whole MS loophole needs to be plugged. Unless one has done their BS here, no GCs should be given to any of these guys. The local kids end with with big student loans and are at a disadvantage because of this.

I hope that you realize that many of them you are talking to are trolls, possibly employed by this website to keep the traffic going in the time when visa bulletins are going nowhere, and many others only pose as Indians but are those who are actually jealous of them and many others just trolls. :)

It doesn't matter even if the jobs are offshored or not. Anyhow an onsite postman from one of your cheap bodyshops is going to delegate the work stuff. H1B coordinated type of work replacement is pretty evident here. Other fool in the prev post is rating the american worker's proficiency at work is well below 1/2 th of a H1B worker LMAO! After undergoing a crappy piece of shitty education system back in India and working in slave shops for years with never improving peanut brains and marshalling cheap street dogs caught in so called campus placements , now these WITCH employees with false pride are making funny sarcasm on US citizens. It is the due responsibility of the current politicians to bringup the H1B,EB1C abuses to light and scrap these existing rules related to free trade. whats wrong with them in helping their own people??

The difference is that you are a pea brain and continue to be like that. Go fok yourself.

By the way you mean to say ALL 250 Edison employees were useless and don't deserve to have a job?

Their jobs moved offshore. That's got nothing to do with H1-B. Besides, it's not a decision of an H1-B worker. That would have been an executive decision taken AT Disney! Call it greed or capitalism, but it would have been Disney's decision.

It is very easy for politicians to fool gullible people like you and make them believe that somehow H1-B visa is to blame for that. And, you will keep repeating it like a parrot without thinking beyond the obvious being fed to you.

Very passionate words! I totally agree and relate to what you say. And, how may times can you immigrate to a new county after 10-15 years? Why should one start over again in a different country after doing 38 credits? Why should one get lowered or no retirement benefits because they were not allowed to work long enough in that country? If they send hard working people back, they'll be robbing them of thei retirement benefits and their children's future.

So if you are NOT making 110k thats alright. Just make sure you are making more than a US citizen or GC holder in the same position or job role.

Which is a terrible condition because wages are determined by "prevailing wages" for a job. That is why we need to pay attention to what is happening and being said.

Exactly I agree with ur views..if people can plan properly they can have wonderful jobs on H1b in USA with 100 of cities.. there is another troll user here..he is simply scaring everyone here asking them to migrate to other countries..these fellows are all over USA immig forums writing nonsense.

Best to ignore conversation which has a negative effect. No one on this forum knows what really is going to happen. IMHO if you have good skill sets which is in demand in the job market, then you have nothing to fear. A lot of unnecessary negativity is being spread. I think now that the rule is out this forum should be used to discuss all the +ves & -ves of the rule & for no other purpose

I would ignore nothing. Just because it is negative, doesn't mean we should ignore it.

HCL? Thought they were one of the better companies?
Understand the sentiment against big outsourcing companies, but would you work for a body shopper with no 401k, other benefits and unaffordable insurance plan instead? I am guessing that majority of the visas are hoarded by they 1000s of body shopping firms in the Silicon valley and NY/NJ/VA area.
There is no genius involved in coining a stupid acronym (your username is a good example), but the fact here is that if something changes with these policies, it will affect everyone, not just the outsourcing companies.

Why are the likes of IBM, Accenture and Microsoft not there? Are they any small outsourcers? I agree, it is a stupid acronym. Sounds like a case of sour grapes to me.

We will see how far eb1c goes.
That should be our 1st wicket
2nd would be this cra\py l L visa.
List is big,and fakers are included

First on the list should be those who have misused the MS route. Our children study all their lives here. We pay for 100s of 1000s of dollars or they end up with huge student loans. These guys lie at the consulate and come here with their cheap education from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Kenya, don't pay a single dime, work at gas stations and find ways to stay here. That cheap base puts American students at a disadvantage. This loophole has to be plugged.

Only students who at least did their BS here should be given visas to stay after MS. Rest of the fakers should be booted out. American high school students know more than them.

LOL

Look who's talking? So, it is okay if u come to do MS, got GC, had US born kids and now u want other people to stop coming for MS so that ur kids dont have to take education loan.

Did u think about the local kids here before coming for MS or local jobs if u came for job?

Height of selfishness!

I was only trying to make a point to those who jump up and down here everyday implying somehow doing MS or Phd in the US makes them better than the rest. It does not. Those who live in glass houses, should not throw stones at others.
