Anyway, keep waiting.

You seem to be using the world "Anyway" a lot, mostly without making any sense. Is that you're trying to gain some English vocabulary and started with "A"?

It'll be nice conversing with you if/when you get to "B".

That's the best and most liberal immigration system existing in the world today - what more do you want?

Riddance from retards on immigration forums.

Don't worry about this. You have a long way to go. Get your GC first.

Since when did it become your job to tell others what and what not to worry about?

About 3 to 4 years.

Any logic behind that?

I am reporting his post and please keep in mind that any further posts like this will be reported as well. Everybody else please do the same. We can be constructive & do something about this wait rather than twiddling our thumbs & "gathering" like frogs in one thread. Ridiculous.

Feel free to report my post. But it doesn't matter if you think it's ridiculous. Whether we're gathering like frogs or fairies. If it just helps some of us coming in terms with the situation or simply pass time, it's a good enough reason. Surely, you can ignore a thread you don't want to be a part of.

I hate to see some people imposing their taste over others. It's anti-social and should not be accepted.

Topic: So it is Obama, what it means to us ??????

"Democrats tend to care more about the illegal immigrants. They tend to be slightly -ve to neutral towards legal ones (due to their close relationships with unions). Republicans tend to be more tilted towards legal ones due to closer relationships with businesses. "

Um, Isn't Zoe Lofgren, heronie of Trackitt a Democrat?

She's from San Jose, well supported by IT industry. There'll always be exceptions. Again note, I said above "slightly -ve to neutral" towards legal ones. Read only as much as it states, not more.

Topic: So it is Obama, what it means to us ??????

I'm very glad that Obama is Prez. He's an able candidate and I believe he'll put the nation first and politics later.

However, I don't expect him to champion or rush to do something for immigrants. 2nd generation immigrants are not usually pro-immigrants (believe it or not). At the same time I don't expect to vehemently oppose a pro-immigrant bill passed by congress. He'll probably have a neutral impact.

However, congress is very strong in US and will probably have more say in what bills get passed. The good news is that our McCain is still in the senate and is very likely to champion something for immigrants.

Democrats tend to care more about the illegal immigrants. They tend to be slightly -ve to neutral towards legal ones (due to their close relationships with unions). Republicans tend to be more tilted towards legal ones due to closer relationships with businesses.

Democrats have increased their majority (albeit not a filibuster-proof one in senate) and therefore should have easier time pushing through a bill that doesn't please every one. That makes it easier for an immigration bill to pass.

It's very difficult to contemplate something that'll make things worse for legal immigrants (not because it's not a possibility but due to shear denial from legal immigrants, including myself..."How can it possibly get worse!!!").

So, the congress should pass something +ve in the next year or so. I'll not bet on it because law-making is way too messy a process. I've been watching C-SPAN everytime an immigration law is on anvil and have stopped getting excited just because a pro-immigration bill has been introduced in the congress. Most of the time sponsors themselves know that the bill has no chance of moving ahead but they still have to return favors to contributors and supporters.

The chances of a pro-immigration law are better than ever... but not -by any stretch of imagination- a done deal. Keep your fingers crossed and try to neither raise nor lower your hope.
