Topic: Change of address: propagates from 485 case to EAD/AP renewals?

Hello,

My I-485 has been pending since lodging the application concurrently with the 140 in Dec 2007. The 140 has been approved.

I got my EAD and AP in early Jan 2008.

I moved to another residential address in July 2008 and intimated my change of address to the 485 and 140 cases which were pending then.

Just over a week ago, I filed my EAD and AP renewals, using my NEW (current) address.

Question: Can I assume that the July 2008 change of address associated with my 485 will percolate to my EAD and AP renewal applications now in Oct 2008?

My assumption has been that change of address notification is relevant only for pending and unapproved cases. When I changed my address and notified USCIS, my EAD and AP were not exactly "pending".

Please confirm or correct my position. Thanks!

Topic: AP renewal: Question re "class of admission"

Hi,

My 485 is pending & I have been on EAD, with AP for nearly a year, with time drawing near for renewal. (I will update my profile later today with my GC application data, sorry!) Prior to this, I was on H1B, which elapsed earlier this year. The last time I landed in the US from overseas was when I was on H1B. When I filed my application for AP first, nearly a year ago, I was still on H1B. Now I am on EAD with "adjustment of status pending".

My question pertains to box 3 in part 1 of the Advanced Parole application form, where you should state "Class of admission". Should I indicate H1B, the class in which I was admitted into the country the last time I landed, or should it be "AOS pending", my current pretext for staying in the US?

Many thanks!

Topic: EAD efile Vs Paper filing

Very useful thread--

I need to get the EAD as well as AP renewed for both my wife and myself. I am considering paper filing so that I can (most probably) receive the EAD card and AP approval more quickly than through e-filing, and as well, aviod a call for biometrics.

Regarding photographs: the instruction for I-131 (on the USCIS website) says: Using pencil or felt pen, lightly print your name and Alien Receipt Number on the back of the photo.

My questions: (1) can I send all four applications (EAD and AP renewals for self and wife) in the same package to NSC?

(2) I have heard that they are very fussy about the exact edition of the forms that you can use (for both EAD and AP). The forms have an expiry date at the top right of the page (for example, ) and a revision number of some kind at the bottom right of the page (for example, Form I-131 Instructions (Rev. 05/27/08)Y Page 8). My question is: does anyone know whether the forms available online at the USCIS website currently are usable for renewal applications at present?

The 131 form on the USCIS website says:
top right: OMB No. 1615-0013; Expires 02/28/09
bottom right: Form I-131 Instructions (Rev. 05/27/08)Y Page#...

The 765 application form on the USCIS website says:
top right: OMB No. 1615-0040; Expires 08/31/08
bottom right: Form I-765 (Rev. 05/27/08) N

Many thanks

Thank you SFBabe. When you renew the EAD online how do you go about submitting your photos? Thanks again.

Do the EAD and AP renewals call for applicants' photographs to be submitted?

Thanks

Topic: Address change & I-140 petition

Thanks, enduring,

I'll add my case soon.

Mine is EB1-B (EB1-OR). I suppose I should get my lawyer to send change of address notice on my I-140.

Cheers,
AG
