Topic: Consular processing vs adjusment of status

Hi Gurus...I need help. My I-824 "Follow to join" for my children just got approved. Initially a Consular processing request was filed since my kids are abroad. Now here is why I need help. My kids are coming to the USA to spend their Xmas vacation with me on tourist visas (visa waiver program). Airlines tickets were purchased before the I-824 approval. I would like to initiate adjusment of status while the kids are here and have them stay. Any thoughts? Is it possible to switch from consular to Adjusment of status on tourist visa? Help me understand. Thanks gurus.

Topic: Can employer revoke approved I-485?

Just relax. Once your I485 is approved and you got the plastic card in your hands, your employer is out of the picture....You may want to stay or leave. The I485 is yours, and there is nothing your employer can do to revoke it once it is approved. Go ahead and fire yourself today if you want. You are safe, you are permanent resident of this great country.

Topic: Experience re-entering US with GC

I traveled overseas short after receiving my GC. Returning to the US at Newark Airport was quite an experience. No I-94 form. I spent exactly 10 seconds with the immigration officer. His questions were the purpose of my trip overseas and how long I was out of the US. He then swiped my GC and let me go with a smile. What a difference!!!!

Keep me posted. Dieu ne dort pas.

Topic: LUD on approved i140 the next day

hesc:
Multiple LUDs after I-140 approval is rutine, we all got it.....Mine was approved on June 4 and I kept seeing LUDs on my approved I140 until June 10. I have no idea what it means for the I-485. I guess they do some sort of file consolidation or send request for visa # to DOS. My lawyer told me it should take about 1 to 2 months for the I485 to be approved. Hope lawyer is right.
