Topic: Any one up for marriage:)
This is funny. I liked it. |
Topic: yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy i got rfe email today
does this means I should look for another chat room? I don't speak hrglgrk or whatever that all is, and I don;t like to look at threads and not be able to even get the idea what it is about.
this forum is clearly marked as 'English speaking'. So please find another forum, if you can't do so! |
Topic: Fear of GC revocation ...
well, you need to be a bit more careful here!
Yes, you can come back anytime, no questions asked. Except if you were gone more than 12 month: You just lost your green card, byebye. You will not even be allowed to enter back in the US.
Also! If you ever apply for naturalization (becoming an US citizen), they will check your employment history. If they see that you left your sponsoring company 'right after' you got the green card, they consider it cheating, and revoke it and extradite you - except if you have a GOOD reason (not being paid IS a good reason, no doubts), and can provide proof. So make sure you have some way to prove that you weren't paid (letters you sent them asking for payment overdue, checking account statements, whatever)
And if more than six months are gone since you got green card, you are normally good anyway. |
Topic: USCIS's radom processing/approval of Cases- potential answer!!!
By the way do they send RFE to your home or to the lawyer? TIA
to both. In parallel. |
Topic: USCIS's radom processing/approval of Cases- potential answer!!!
well, I *did* have an RFE, and was approved. And I know someone who was approved alone (no dependants) same day.
They might prefer others, but they are not exclusively handling those.
I think basically they have an gigantic amount of paper waiting somewhere, which is not sorted by receive date (or anything else), and they just work through it as they grab it, without spending 20% of their time sorting them first. Maybe they have a rough sorting, like 'if you grab a stack with 2008 stuff, put it aside, otherwise work on it', but maybe not even that - I know someone that applied in April 08 and was approved.
I know that its frustrating to see later applicants getting approved first; but would you prefer to wait 20% longer to be in sequence? |
Topic: I485 RFE Replied. No Status Change.
I think they do not look at the case again until the due date.
So if your response was due on Aug/22, and you sent it on Aug/2, it will be sitting for 20 days. That is a standard method, used in many places; the point is that when they look at it on Aug/23 (=one day after due), and it is there, they process it; if it is missing, they deny the case. So either way, they only need to touch the case once.
So be patient until the day after due.
Well, after that day, I would be nervous too. |
Topic: what happens when u get RFE?
hey! six days after the date on the golden page you will be approved. Just get that stupid skin test done, and you're there. |
Topic: what happens when u get RFE?
I meant I sent it so arrived on the exact day it was due. FedEx overnight. Not that I was willing to play it out, it just was not possible any earlier: The USPS mail from them arrived after seven days had passed already; there was never any update in CRIS. So I could have known it on day seven. But I left for an eleven day vacation on that day, so I found it on day 19. Then it needed a civil surgeon doing my TBC skin test, which they do only Mo-Fr, and it takes two days to read the result, and then it takes 3 days (for this doctor) to write it up and seal the envelope, and then I had to sent to the lawyer first, and they didn't have the employer letter ready, etc. So it ended up being at US-CIS on the day it was due (August/5), and I was approved on August/11. |

30 days. And I sent it the very last day. |
Topic: what happens when u get RFE?
don't worry, I can only confirm: The best that could happen to you is an easy RFE! I had to redo my skin test (well, 300 bucks), but was approved 6 days after RFE was received by US-CIS. This is the common pattern with many others, so if you can fulfill the RFE, you can basically plan for the GC party! |
