Topic: Renewal EAD Fee

Hi guys. I am about to file for renewal EAD for my wife. Her 485 RD is July 31, 2007. Do we still need to pay the $340 even though the 485 was filed after the July 30 fee structure change?

Topic: Renewal EAD

Hey everyone. I need to renew my wife's EAD. Do I still need to pay the $340 if I the RD on her 485 applications says July 31, 2008. I've read thru the EAD instructions, and came across this one:

"If you are filing for an extension of your Employment Authorization and your Form I-485, Application for Permanent Residence, was filed before July 30, 2007, then you must pay the $340 filing fee."

What if I filed after July 30 -- i.e. July 31?

Topic: Let;s hope Democrat wins

atishrdas: Since you seem to be in the tank for Bill Clinton back in the 90s -- Bill managed to create a huge backlog in visas and he also was the supporter of the famous IRAIRA of 1996, which created the famous 3 year/10 year bar hurdle. No one has mentioned that his Act was so unfair and so easy to meet that it's a fine line not to fall into its traps.

So much for Bill and the Democrats.

And Republicans? Well, you see what we have gotten from the Republicans -- a financial mess beyond comprehension.

I don't think either Obama OR McCain are qualified -- it depends on who is the lesser evil. A notorious liar (Obama has no character whatsoever) vs. another one from Bush's party. GREAT choice.

Topic: Reputable Attorneys for Canadian Immigration

Is it possible to apply for Canadian residency while the US green card process is still running? I'm tired of waiting and waiting and waiting for my US green card. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Topic: WATCH OUT HOUSE BILL TODAY.......

zion2:

This is a very good comment, and right down the Avenue called Truth. You're a 100% correct in your assessment. All this bill does is increase inflation -- it's a mere engine toward continued devaluation of the US dollar. The warnings of this fiasco were in place long time ago already. Needless to say, what was done? Whenever there was a financial issue, Greenspan & Co just printed more money. What a wonderful economic model. Other factors, such as greed, played an equally crucial role -- what about the bottom line for Wall Street companies to make a 25% profit no matter what. How do you get 25%? Well, providing bad loans is one way. More bad loans put more people in houses, creating a real estate bubble. Meanwhile, we pup a load of money into known wars, and wars that no one has even heard of, every week.

Congrats zion2, I agree with you 100% -- we should hang out for a drink.

Topic: will someone tell me what POJ means ?

Not entirely correct. EB2 only means that the WORK that you are going to peform for your sponsor requires a Master's degree (equivalent to 5+ years of work experience). You you have a PhD, JD, MD, MA, or any other advance degree -- it doesn't matter. What matters is the degree required to perform your job.

There are many people with advance degrees doing jobs that only require a BA/BS. Many of those end up in EB3 because their lawyers didn't do the homework. Also, many advanced degree holders take on lower jobs because there was no other company that wanted to play the role of sponsor for 5+ years.

Topic: Wake up Guys!!! There is no recapture visa bill

If you don't like this country, its politics, or its people, please leave. You have no right to be here -- it was a privilege granted to you on whatever grounds. A person with a mindset of your calliber is better off in another country. Whether gameover is correct or not is beyond debate -- this is one person's opinion to which she/he is entitled.

If you cannot provide any substance to your argument, meaning if you cannot formulate any factual argument, then please do us all a favor and zip it up. Thanks.

Topic: Please Support BARRAK OBAMA

This is for the joker named "gameover"

You're such a joker. How much do you get paid on the side to come up with posts on the Internet? First, spell his name correctly. Secondly, you're making yourself ridiculous by misspelling people's names and then saying "they bring so much more skill." Thirdly, are you implying ANY other is dumb and does not deserve an increase in visa numbers?

Topic: Why USCIS are not increasing the Quotas for Indians and Chinese?

And, no, I don't hate people from India. I hate the attitude, arrogance, egoism, and constant whining. Like many people from Mexico -- think like the country is theirs. People in Mexico are among the nicest people, but what shows up over here in many cases is the total opposite. That's what ticks me off.
