Topic: GC after I-485 RFE
Hi,
I received an RFE for my I-485 requesting a Employment Letter. I go the letter today and my lawyer is planning tio send the RFE response tomorrow. Let's assume I get approved in a month. Does anyone now how long it will be to get my GC, keeping in my mind that my category is EB3 and my PD is August 2003? Do I have to wait for visa numbers to be current?

Topic: eb3 at nsc - I am going crazy.
Join the club! My RD is 8/16/07 and ND is 10/3/07, last update on my 140 was 12/28/07...the frustrating thing is that i have 3 people at work who got their GC in less than a year from applying to the whole process (all EB2, I'm really happy for them), and they've only been here for 2 years, I'm on my 7th! So i guess it's Last In First Out @ USCIS...SO NOT FAIR! | | | |

Here's my story:
I got my I-130 approved in June 2005. In the meantine, I was on H1-B, and then labor got approved, and then in 2007 I applied for the Green Card through work (using i-140 and i-485 form which are still pending). My lawyer applied for adjustement of status through work, because he said i will get the GC faster. I am so frustrated, nothing so far, it's been 7 years.
Question is: if I apply for AOS through my approved I-130, how long will take to get the GC (approximately). I haven't been following the family based GC processed, so i have no idea. Please englight me!

Thanks for the reply, I will stop working on Oct. 28 till i get my renewal, I guess that's the safest route. Unless i apply for my H1-B renewal (one year extension since I am already consumed the 6 years). Do you think that would be a good alternative? Thanks again. | | | |

My EAD expires on 10/28/08 and my H1-B on 10/30/08. I've been calling my laeyer since July to apply for EAD renewal, and he kept telling me it's too ealy to do that, and that he will apply for renewal end of September (which he did) and there should be no problem. Well finally, after a month of applying I receive my receiot from USCIS stating that they have received my application on 10/14/08 and case is pending. My lawyer doesn't want to apply for H1-B renewal. According to him, I can continue working while my EAD renewal is pending. After reading so many posts, this doesn't seem right! I feel so frustrated!
