Topic: Life After GC - voted for its own forum

Hello trackitters,

I'm so thankful to this forum. I've learned a lot and yet a lot more to be learned. I'd like to still be able to come back and connect with ones who are passing in the same stage. When I searched, I found a few threads concerning life after GC before natauralization. I think it's deserved to have its own forum.

As we are unclear and no solid document regarding from GC to Citizenship, those who are going through or have gone through might gain some benefits from one another's experience... like 140 and 485 of their own forum.

Question like:
- how many days I should stay with this employer after receiving GC?
can be answered from those who might stayed only 30 days and now went through the interview for Citizenship and passed... Things like this.. would make us all see a little more light to that frequent asked question.

I'm still praying for those who stucked in 140 and 485. May your turn come soon.

Topic: Is there any LUD when I-485 gets approval?

Pt14268,
To answer your question. Here’s my status.

Dec 2 about 5.30pm-ish: got an email from CRIS. Logged into USCIS saw hard LUD (from 9/30/07 to be 12/02/2008) with welcoming message for PR.
Dec 3 about 6am: got an email from CRIS for Card production ordered. Logged in to USCIS saw hard LUD (from 12/02/2008 to be 12/03/2008) with CPO message. (However, the date inside CPO is still Dec 2, 2008)

In anyway, CRIS email seems to be delayed from USCIS or for others I’ve read CRIS did not even deliver email while USCIS had hard LUD. This is also true for my 140. USCIS shows approved but never got CRIS till this date.

krustycat and all 485 approval yearners,

I'm so excited. Haven't had time to digest what I just saw. I was planning to call in again this Friday. BUT!

I just logged in to check the case and saw this message

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

On December 2, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I remembered seeing someone on this forum got this as well. I don't actually know what that means and how long to get the actual card but will keep you all posted. Thank you for the blessing words. I'm praying for you all as well. You will hear yours soon and very soon. Keep poking/calling/emailing them around till you get it.

Thank you Jesus!

Topic: Unfriendly Customer Service

Hi sucks, Don't give up calling. There are some nice ones. You just need to pray before you pick up the phone. I called pretty much every single day except weekend for the past week and kind of tracking the schedules of these people. Look at my post here and pick the right day to call. Happy thanksgiving.

Topic: Sharing experience from the last Infopass

Guys,

This is the most hilarious thread on here. I'm so sorry didn't mean to laugh at your pain but you described it so well. I literally fell down on the floor laughing my tears out. My dog was so nervous seeing me on the floor. He paced back and forth didn't know what to do.

It took me more than 10 minutes to read the original post 'cause I had to stop and breath in from the laugh.

I hope you get the approval soon!!

alspu,
I have to clarify before unsubscribing from this post. I called that because I was called that from their mouth straight to my face and that's the only reason to it.

krustycat,

Thank you for the support and the blessing word. I was gonna wait till I get the approval status to use the word 'great news' but I guess every move they make on my case is now great news. :)

Forgot one piece of info from my conversation with Teresa this morning. She said that when the cases are assigned to the officer, they are assigned in a batch of 100 applications. It'd take about 90 days to go through by human reading. There's no such automatic approval like I saw reading on this forum referred from uscis site or some website. She mentioned that the cases are assigned according to the date we applied. She said mine was on July 16, 07 (which I know it wasn't the date but hey it got moved closer who would argue.:)). That day July 16, they received 2000 applications within one day. Just want to pass on this info to everybody.

casanova02,
yes, you can call in. Some CSRs who are nice will take time to lookup and explain to you. These CSRs are not IOs so you really won't slow down the adjudication of others. They are hired to answer the questions on the phone and they should do their jobs. Please share your experience when you call as well so we all are edified. :)

Topic: Terrible Experience at Interview

Greeni2008,

I usually don’t jump in on a post like this but seeing your response I cannot keep myself quiet.
We are human beings, not animals. Human beings have a higher life. To whom much is given, much is required.
Because we were born as a human being, we should treat and respect other human being regardless of the race, ethnicity, look, outward appearance.
I never had problem with the statement above before until I came to this country and met some horrible whites whose egos caused them to think that all non-white is inferior.
Because of that attitude I had been treated, I can understand why av30428 reacted the way he did. A sinful nature in me reacted that several times when they came with that attitude. And also everytime I have to make a decision to repent, forgive, forget and move on. It’s easy to say when you encounter this once in a blue moon. But when you encounter this day in day out, sometimes forgiveness is run out before you are able to give away.

With that said, I also meet some extraordinary whites in this country that become my true friends. It’s just very unfortunate that some of us encounter those horrible ones and we happen to have a chance to share to one another on this forum.

Gee.. I had a quick post for the earlier post. Sorry for the vent.
She did call back, just now and stated that my file was just moved and assigned to the officer today.
She said it’ll be within 90 day from now.
Never give up to call. I’ll call in again next month.

Called back this am. Really pissed at the situation and the way they work. After all, I should have known better because I’m working among these kind of people at my work place. It’s non-profit and all whites here work up to the name of non-profit.

I asked to talk to Teresa and she said that my file has been ordered to move but it hadn’t been arrived at her desk. She asked for my phone # to call back. In the real world, I know she wouldn’t. She asked me to call back in Friday or Monday. Hey, it’s been 10 years with long red tape although my pd shows 2004. It’s only because 6 years prior to that I faced these same kinds of people. I do have the right to be pissed.

I called back today and asked first the name of the CSR. Today is Maria, same one as on Friday. I know that it'd be nothing new from her so I asked her to transfer my call to Teresa or Emma. Teresa is not working on Tuesday and she wrote down my info for Emma to call me back. I did not get a call back though and will try tomorrow again.

Here's the schedule of CSR, phone person that I gathered so far if you want to take a chance to call. I figured that's why Teresa asked me to call back on Wed because she doesn't work on Mon and Tue from my previous post.

Wednesday: Emma and Teresa
Thursday: Teresa
Friday: Maria
Monday: MARY - I pray that you wouldn't get to talk to her.
Tuesday: Maria, Emma
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Emma, Teresa, Maria - they all so really super extremely nice and helpful beyond their duty.
MARY - black list, super rude

Topic: Send email to ombudsman

Hello

I just wanted to report that I got a response email back from Mr Ombudsman today (Tue, Nov 25). It was a generic email saying that they checked my case online referred to uscis website against the published processing date and my case is within the processing time. It should be processed in a timely manner.

I could have done that myself and I already know it!

They didn't answer about my file's location though. However, I'm following up for that myself via phone in another thread and tried to update daily.

At least we know that they acted on email in 3 business days.

I'd like to see faq within each category. The faq would be something that people inquired a lot, ie: phone sequence, or what to do/know after each category approved or denied. Things like that.

I called back again to get a confirmation for my file’s situation. The IO who picked up the phone today named Mary. She refused to give me any information. She refused to even pull up my case on the screen to take a look at it. They hired a person to be a receptionist just to tell us that you can’t call in but need to check on the website whereas the website hasn’t been reliable source in the past. I asked further questions as I hadn’t finished what I needed to know. She totally cut off the line by hanging up on me. My word was still in the middle of the sentence and I wasn’t upset or anything either. I tried to be calm and polite as much as I could since I know how busy they must be. This person, Mary, is so rude. I wish to see her one day when I became US citizen and will track her down see how her life would be 5 years from now from treating other humans like this.

I guess whoever on this forum called in and got pissed off from the phone person service probably got this same IO as mine today.
