Topic: Can you work for two employers if you have green card?

I received my GC during 2008 and I have stuck to the same employer until now and is it possible I can work for another employer on contract with their W2 or I have to quit from my current employer to join them. Anyone have similar experiences and how the process works?

This is probably too early. You have to wait till your green-card turns "Green". Everybody get's a kinda pink card in the beginning. As you pay more & more taxes, it'll change color and eventually turn completely green. You can then either join another company as an employee on 1099 or on contract with W2.

Topic: Lets gather here with hope, and a glass of wine!

A glass of wine is no good.

Forget Hope! what you need is dope!!

especially if you're EB3-I.

Topic: Text of CIR ASAP.. Has provisions for Visa Recapture!!

what happens after a bill gets introduced?

Nothing. Less than 1% of bills see anything happening of them. Rest of them are given a number and sit quietly in the basement and wait for their turn for recycling.

Pakistan needs checks. India is in a totally different league.
It has already been recognized as a nuclear power. Apart from symbolic gestures, there's nothing else that can be offered or is needed.

Topic: Options against a non Paying Employer

State work compensation dept. is the easiest and most painless way.

You may not be able to go to small claims court as the amount owed may surpass their limit.

Topic: Furlough at work - Can I collect under employment on GC?

I had heard that... it's not free money, it comes out of your social security pool... no point getting it if you don't need it.

Can some expert confirm?

Topic: IS THIS TRUE?

PLEASE REPORT "newuser1" EVERYTIME HE STARTS A MEANINGLESS THREAD

Not only that... they should also ban all the suckers who take his threads seriously.

I also heard that if you mix one-part coke, two-parts diet pepsi and with a lunch of lemon and drink it at 2am & 5am everyday... your GC wait time gets reduced by 1/3rd. It has to be true... I read it on Internet.

Topic: update on EB3 visa distribution from USCIS?

Because the same reason that they disclosed the I-485 data exclusively for IV.
IV has created such a relation based on the individual community members efforts (sending FOIA requests).. Which they(IV) betrayed later.. and probably still utilizing that same leverage.

No such exclusivity. This is how it works. Anybody can make a FOIA request. If the information is not readily available, dept. replies with the cost estimate of what it'll cost to get that info. Here's IV ran a campaign to collect money to cover the cost of I-485 data, which is to IV's credit.

However, once is data is available, anybody can request it. You can simply write a letter to USCIS and get this data. Nobody is entitled to any data exclusively and that goes for IV as well.

There's no strategy shift that will be revealed to IV exclusively. If it's real, I'd expect this to appear in a lot of places. Anyway, if somebody had the original IV post in the donor forum, post it here.

Topic: update on EB3 visa distribution from USCIS?

I heard from my friend who is donor. I had to buy him a mocha to get this.

They are saying spill over is going to be divided between EB2 and EB3 I

Can't happen. They can't just arbitrarily distribute the numbers between EB2 and Eb3I. EB3-ROW will have the first access to spilt over numbers. And BTW: USCIS can not decide on the spillover. It is DoS.

PS: I am not going personal on you. I am just talking about the information. So please no flames or justification, I realize you are just passing on what you heard.

Moreover, why haven't we heard it from Oh Law's breaking news and other places. I doubt CIS confided with IV in private

If this is true... this is a seminal event.

I'll wait for an independent verification before I get excited.

Can anybody post the original IV donor forum post verbatim?

Most likely it's something very trivial, not worth bothering with except for curiosity factor... slowing down of a whole highway 'cause people almost stop to stare at an accident by the side of the road.

If it's anything significant, you'll hear about it from many other sources as well.

Topic: USCIS pending 485 numbers

This data is too good, and EB3 India guys, just hang on, we saw from USCIS data how many spill over can happen each year. In 2011 we will see big advancement for EB3 because no of GC filed has gone way down. So keep faith and hang on. Excellent work OP, this is some thing great.

The reason there have been very few filings since Aug 2007 is because of backlog in perm processing. CIS is currently processing Aug 2007 perm cases. Eventually you should see same numbers in 2007, 8 & 9 columns as you see in 2006 & 5.

Moreover, these are I-485 cases only. Don't forget the consular processing cases. They'll consume some visa numbers as well.

Topic: EB3-IN-OCT-2004-11years

You have 23,475 cases ahead of you.
At 2828 visas per year, you'll become current in 8.3 years, assuming no-spillover.
EB3-Row should become current in ~4-5 years. After which the spillover can occur and you could get it in ~6 years.
