Topic: Actual EAD receipt more than a month after mailing

Hi samira,

Have you received your card? My case is similar. They said the card was mailed to me on October 28, 2008. But I still haven't received it yet.
I called the Customer Service twice and they told me since the mail was not returned to them. They would treat it as a lost document. So if I want to get a new card, I have to apply for a replacement (of a lost EAD) with a fee ($340!!!).

Your experience would be helpful.

Thanks,
Jenny

Topic: EAD card was sent 36 days ago but still haven't received yet

Hi,

I was informed that the EAD card was mailed to me on October 28, 2008 but was also told to allow 30 days for the mail to arrive. Now it has been more than 30 days and I still haven’t received my EAD card.
I called the Customer Service and got a surprising answer. They told me since the mail was not returned to them. They would treat it as a lost document. So if I want to get a new card, I have to apply for a replacement (of a lost EAD) with a fee ($340!!!). I told the representative, I didn’t lose my card; I didn’t receive it! It was not my fault. But she insisted that it is the policy.
Did anyone have similar experience? How can I get my card without paying again?

Thanks,
Jenny
