Topic: EAD rejected twice due to correct fee not paid and correct photos not attached

The fee is US$340, not US$345. For the photo, include the jacket that usually accompany it to indicate when the photo was taken.

Topic: Must be with same employer after GC??? Who said that???

Here's a test like honesty test.

If you're doing something that you're afraid to tell your spouse, then that must be something that may get her/him angry, right?

Now, regarding this unwritten rule, if after you get a GC and you change employer immediately like after one week, if you're afraid to tell USCIS, then you're afraid that USCIS might get suspicious, right?

If you feel you can tell USCIS and nothing will happen, then your conscience is clear. Just do it. It's your ass anyway.

Some wants to play it safe. Some wants to play it risky. It's our choice.

Topic: Shitty treatment by NSC IO

First thing they give is their name and ID. If the IO doesn't give you that, just tell that you want to speak to someone who is willing to give you his/her name and ID.

Topic: VISA AVAILABILITY FOR OCTOBER

Since USCIS and DOS started to have new interpretation of the law, I stopped worrying and interpreting what's in the future for us. No more Visa Bulletin prediction from me. It's hard to do it if the rule keeps on changing.

For me, it doesn't matter anymore. I will just enjoy my EAD, which I renewed recently and hope that in the future I will get my GC.

Que Sera, Sera...whatever will be, will be! I will just cross the bridge when I get there.

Topic: Whats you guys say about this answer by Ron Gotcher(Attorney at law)

Ron Gotcher is a respected war veteran. Please show some respect.

I don't think he's wrong. It is just the USCIS and DOS keep on changing the way they interpret the law and became unpredictable. No one can be right and wrong in this immigration mess. Everybody is just doing guessworks. Who knows, after the change of leadership to Democrats and appointment of a Democrat DHS chief, a new interpretation of the immigration law will again be introduced and then, all guesses will be 'wrong' again.

Topic: New Receipt no of each EAD renewal?

Yes. The number has a code like service center, year, coumputer days, etc.

Topic: 2 jobs using EAD

Yes. Technically, you can even don't have to work for a job that's listed in your LC as long as you have an employment agreement that will hire you permanently for the LC job after getting the GC.

Topic: layoff after gc

I agree that we can relax after getting a GC. However, always remember that getting a GC doesn't mean that we're no deportable. A single criminal case can make a GC deportable. And after five years, if a GC holder would apply for Naturalization, that's another mess. Right now the wait is 18 months. And you know what, if one is denied in Naturalization application, that could also spell disaster unless reason for denial is did not pass the exam or other minor reasons.

I have seen cases where GC holders were put in removal proceedings after Naturalization got denied.

Why am I telling this? We must also be careful in every step we make even if we already have a GC just as how we careful we were not to lose our status when we were non-immigrants.

Imagine that you already settled here and just for a simple mistake in the past, a certain prospect in the future ruined your life.

Going back to OPs question: I think it's alright. Just make sure he keep the documentation for future use.

Topic: question for ead

Actually, it depends. EAD can also be useful in Driver's licence renewal, in proving that you have pending AOS, in getting SSN (once off). Some kind of work even if volunteer is still considered working so EAD is needed. An opportunity might come in the future for your dependents, who knows, like be an actor in Hollywood..hehe!

It depends whether you need it for other situations as well.

Topic: A quick questions, please help

Who knows...maybe their kids are working as actors in Hollywood...

you see, there are sense in doing it...if you think, it's non-sense to you, then it is but it makes sense to others...like getting SSN and stimulus check, school benefits, etc.

Having only ITIN makes one a second-class citizen in this country, why not make your child a first-class citizen by giving him a SSN?
