Topic: Question to people that know about I-551 temporary stamps

I will update it for sure when it is approved. You're right, my only option it seems like is to wait. I've seen people waiting a month and some 6 months. What's more accurate?

OK. Am I the only one missing something here. You cannot get a I-551 stamp unless your application is approved. Once it is approved you may get your card in hand in as little as a week. So why are you talking about I-551 stamp now???????

I have a complicated situation in which I only have a conditional approval. I expect -and hope- that the "conditions" will be resolved very soon and I would like to travel immediately after. I don't want to complicate this for others as I am in a some what unique situation as of now and no one should worry about a "conditional approval".

Metr5550, does that mean you think that at the infopass they will stamp my travel document eventhough my embassy issues a 1 month travel document?

Topic: Question to people that know about I-551 temporary stamps

The problem I have is that my country requires that I renew my passport there and the embassy can only give me a travel document at this time valid for a month. Will they turn me away if I go to an infopass or will they accept the travel document? I am assuming the document has to be valid for the duration of the I-551? Thanks a lot.

Topic: Question to people that know about I-551 temporary stamps

Do I need to have a valid passport from my country in order to receive a temporary stamp? If not, what would I need? Do they actually stamp my I-94? Any additional information is appreciated. Thanks.

Topic: Mistake on Green Card

In case you are serious, there was no gender change. Has anyone had any problems with typos on the actual green card? How can we fix them? Customer SErvice said it would take 6 months but that doesn't make sense if card production is about a month.

Topic: Mistake on Green Card

My friend's wife received her green card and it said that she was a male. What is the process for correcting the mistake and receiving a corrected card? Thank you.

Topic: File stuck in Local office

I had a similar issue and after many questions andinfopasses I found out that they sent my file to the storage facility in Missouri by mistake. It went to the wrong office and that is the reason that nothing was happening. I suggest that you ask many questions at the infopass and ask to speak to a supervisor if necessary. Sometimes the guys at the infopass can't see all your information, but supervisors can.

Topic: Is it real that USCIS will process 47,000 eligible cases by April 30, 2008?

Many attorneys believe that the actual number of cases that fit under the new policy is around 10,000 but can be as high a 25,000. This is far less than their initial numbers that were even more than the 47,000 they suggested. I believe that USCIS is doing everything they can to meet their own deadlines.
