ls521,

You only need the current I-94, not the copies of old I-94s...you need copies of your visa notices (I guess, I-797's and I-20's). I travel frequently out of US and so far have filled three passports with different visas/stamps..so, I just took my old passports with me..but the IO didn't even ask for them...

Hello Meldy,

My best wishes to you and your family! But, I would like to point out that given the current state of US economy, the attractiveness for which all of us came here has diminished significantly.

As of now, whole GC is more a paper convenience for me to work here till I want than a foundation of a future.

Look at the social security, healthcare costs, cuts in the budgets for schools, sliding infrastructure and ask yourself a question if this would be the country where you want your children to spend their lives if you have a choice.

The best prospects for the next generation or two may not be in USA, but elsewhere. For our generation, currently the best prospects are still in USA and hence, all the efforst to get GC..

Just my 2 cents...

:) The oath taking is a formality where you are asked to tell truth and nothing but truth regarding the questions that are asked by IO.

The mistakes that you have mentioned are not capital crime and nothing that would keep you from your GC...IMHO....

Dear Blueberry,

Relax...once the interviewer is done with his/her questions, you should point out these mistakes. The IO will make notes on your file for requisite changes.

You should keep with you all the documents that are listed on your interview notice, but take them out only if IO wants to see them specifically. In my case, most questions were based on the IO reviewing the application and verifying basics.

Well, in my case the IO had a question about business income that was generated in the past couple of years...so, he asked us to send the business formation document and the business tax returns since inception.

The reason that a case is sent to NBC is 'cause the DHS finds an abnormality and wants to check the details in person. Most of the times, these abnormalities are due to changes in status, changes in jobs, taxes, being out of status etc.

Hello,

We had the interview on 11/07/08. IO asked us basic questions like our addresses, names and whether we were involved with any criminal activities in US/abroad, have we been deported or not etc.

At the end, he asked for some tax related info which we need to mail to the local office within 30 days. He said there is nothing special, and we need to wait for the final review of the case (as well as priority date to become current).

He also took our I-94's and when we explained that we need them to travel, he returned them to us (though initially, he was saying that we should apply for new I-94 as the current I-94 stays with him).

As there doesn't seem to be any chance of PD becoming current (my PD is Feb 2005) till late 2009, I'm putting this whole thing on backburner for now! :)

ls521,

Hang in there! I've the interview date, but as my PD is not current (Feb 2005), I know that the interview will be just an empty drill...one more teaser! :)

I'm more worreid about my money and investments in the face of recent developments...the whole GC is more or less fading out of my radar...it will happen when it may...

Hi Kuran,

:) I'm planning on being there by 0700 AM or so...mainly to account for traffic, parking, security checks etc.
