Topic: Mailing Passport across country borders for PR stamp

If you don' t want to travel to India then send the passport through DHL/FedEX marking as "Documents" sealed in air bubble wrap to your home address and then ask them to send to CHC New Delhi via registered post and put the return address as your home address. Once the Visa is stamped and you get the passports back at your address, get the passport through someone who is coming to USA. In the meantime you will have to take lots of chill pills though.

All is Well!!

Yes you are correct. The new eligible federal skilled worker list doesn't include IT professionals or software engineers because they don't many here now. Yes you can still apply under provincial nominee program. You can find all the information at:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provinci...
http://albertacanada.com/immigration/immigratin... (For Alberta)
I am not sure if there is a huge difference in the eligible skilled worker list for federal and PNPs but you can again find all the information here:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/...
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/...

Topic: Some useful information about Alberta AINP (for newbies)

I have filled for PR through AINP in computer stream. I got a letter from Alberta to submit offer letter from some company in Alberta to pursue my case. Fortunately, I got an offer letter from X company who is filling for my PR.
My question is How much time does Federal government take to process after getting an approval from Alberta province?
=> It all depends on the CIC your case is being processed at. Different consulates will have different waiting times. The below sites can give you a fairly good idea about the process and the waiting times.
http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/immigr...
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/time...

And what if I'll not join the company after getting an approval?
=>No harm. Only thing is that this is not a good ethical practice. Why would you not want to pursue with a company who is helping you at this stage. Don't let your intentions be visible to that company at any point of time at least because if they ditch you, you will be in harsh waters then!

Can that company revoke my process at any stage?
=> Yes they can if they wish too but I am not too sure about this. The question is why would they want to revoke the process if they are pursuing it now. Since somethings are not that clear in your post/intentions, I am just thinking in my way and giving you opinion(which are free)

And also after getting the PR?
=>You are scott-free after getting your PR...but Yeh PR nahin aasaaan, ik aag ka dariya hai aur koood ke jaana hai :) lol

Please help me to answer this.

Sorry for the late reply eesao. If they have not asked for the funds specifically then you don't need to attach any proofs. You can just enter any number that you think is reasonable.

I think AINP officials are not conducting any webinars anymore. It was last year and the year before when they wanted skilled personnel more. Right now what I hear is that they have become more stringent and it takes more time for the entire immigration process...however the entire information is at http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/immigr...

2. This requires a reply in your own words as to what are your plans.People have already shared a lot about this question based on their experience.

3.Whatever you think you can mention in this, the immigration process is not based on these questions. These questions are meant to see the person's seriousness to settle in Alberta. Wiki can help a lot in your answers.

Zizu its not at all obligatory to do the exam in US. The exam can be taken at any Designated Medical Practitioner by the CIC. You can find the list of DMPs at : http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medicalinfo.aspx?Co...

Once the CIC wants you to get yourself medically examined, they will let you know. That is almost the last stage of the immigration process in which they will send you a list of items they need from you (if any) as well as the medical papers which you will hand over to the medical doctor before getting yourself medically examined.

Hope this helps!

Its in the best interest to send the passports with someone in person. But if you think that ($$$) is a concern just for this then take a leap and send through courier to relatives in India and then they can register it to CHC, New Delhi.....but for that process you need to take a lot of chill pills everyday. You are the pilot of your plane, so steer it the way you want to.
You can't tell the postal authorities (USPS or UPS or FedEx or whatever) that you have to send the passports...Passports are IMMIGRATION DOCUMENTS (*hint-hint*)
I am in Alberta and the main job site that is popular here is workopolis.ca or http://alis.alberta.ca/

Then send them the State PCCs asap. Scan the receipt from your doctor's office and send them via email as well as fax with your file number details and name etc so that they have the record of you informing them. The doctor would send the medicals to
Citizenship and Immigration Immigration Health Services (RNH)
Jean Edmond Towers South
365 Laurier Avenue West, 14th Floor
Ottawa, Ontario
K1A 1L1

You can check (only if you are lucky) with them if they had already received your medicals (generally after 2-3 weeks of your medicals). Your eCas status will also (hopefully) update when they receive your medicals. You should have got a hint from your doctor if everything was good with your medicals, under which condition you should send the passports so that CHC stamps the visas.

I am already in Canada.

There are negligible chances of interview (provided you don't have any criminal background and your health is perfect). Do inform CHC Delhi via fax and email about your medicals(full details).

The reason canadaMrSingh had written that was because "He's been there, done that"

The files are not transferred at your will to the desired consulate. Its all done by the CHC...so if Buffalo thinks that you file needs to transferred to New Delhi they will do so. Wait for their decision and you will be communicated everything about your file at the right time.

You are very true dpausuri actually. Someone might lose it and someone might do it. What I have learnt is that Life will give you what you attract with your thoughts; think, act and talk negatively and your world will be negative. Think and act and talk with enthusiasm and you will attract positive results. There is a candidate here by the username mimingarz who experienced the bad side.
http://www.trackitt.com/canada-immigration-trac...

And I know of many who got everything successfully back from N.Delhi if they acted wisely.
I just gave my opinion to deme7683 and I think he will be successful if done the right way. Decision is only his.

Since you yourself know that there is no other option, so just pray and then send the passports with tracking (USPS- it might take 40 bucks). Which city are you sending?
M.IMP: Before sending get your medicals done because the doctors will ask for the passports. Also have all the copies of the passports and only then send. I mean just get all your ducks in a row because one you send the passports then there is no looking back. So whereever you need the passport get those tasks finished first. Dont be too overexcited and then regret later.

1. Yes send the passports to your parents in India either by someone who is going to or nearby your place.(It can take real good time to reach sometimes better is send with someone in person). Then they can send it to CHC New Delhi. Bear in mind that time is the KEY and you have already lost 17 days out of 45.
2.I don't advise to send to CHC as it will get stuck in New Delhi customs.
3. I am not sure if they can stamp the Visa in USA (at least from my experience that is not possible).

If you act right, you will get the passports back stamped in 2-3 weeks. Get the medicals done from some doctor in USA asap, he will automatically send to Ottawa(Get a confirmation receipt from that doctor and fax it and email it to CHC New Delhi so that they know that you have got your medicals done. In the meantime get some way to send the passports to India(if you can go personally, nothing like that). This is the last step so act wise to avoid delays.

Let me know if you need more help.

Yes, its in the best interest to submit the notarized representative letter. The passport will be mailed back to the address that is on the file. You can communicate with the corresponding consulate to confirm about the address on file. You also have the provision to check that online via eCas. Just get all your ducks in a row before shooting.
