Topic: 14yr old kid did not get GC, only principal and spouse did.

I have a quite different situation but yet related. My wife received a FP notice but hers was under Code 2 unlike mine that was under Code 3. I have already received my card but we have not heard any response on her application except the soft LUD after the FP date for her.

I am little worried about her application now. I was wondering why they only took index finger printing for her on the FP day, is there anyone who has gone through this in this forum, would really appreciate the experience if there is any.

Topic: How to confirm if I-140 is upgraded to Premium

Is premium processing available to everyone who has filed I 140 and I - 485 concurrently or is it available for someone at the 6th year of H1B?

Thanks

Topic: Biometrics delay for dependents- any experience?

you might want to make a call in that case. It is very unlikely that one should not receive a receipt for the application filed together.

Had your spouse and kid recently came to the country. Is it possible that their FP was taken at the port of Entry recently?

Topic: Dependent's Finger Printing did not arrive

Chattrapatti,

Isn't the FP and biometrics notice the same thing? Me and my wife applied for 485 at the same time, our FP notice was delayed but when it arrived i received mine first but not my wife's. Is hers on the way or can i just take her with me and see if the local office would take her FP as well.

Topic: Dependent's Finger Printing did not arrive

I have received a finger printing notice for myself but did not receive one for my spouse. Has anyone run into this issue? Is it normal for FP notices to be mailed out at different times. Has anyone tried taking one notice to the local office and get Finger Printed for both applicants.

Topic: No PR - Car Loan Discrimination @ BMW

Are you saying that an American counterpart is willing to work for 50K salary per prevailing wage for the region? The difference between an H1B and an American counter part is that American counterpart is not willing to work just for prevailing wage, he wants traveling expenses and will demand a hotel if traveled to the client site. An American would never accept that job without other benefits such as expenses paid at the client site, bench pay, good health insurance, and vacation which 50% of H1B holder don't get. That exact difference drives the labor rate down. This probably will not apply to all H1Bs but from my experience in projects it applies to almost half of H1Bs that are out there. Looks like you and i are not going to leave our stands. It does not benefit anyone on carrying this never ending argument.

Do you know what a prevailing wage is? Its a MEDIAN wage paid for the particular job at a particular place. Yes that Prevailing wage would be sky rocked if there weren't 1 million H1Bs in this country. Have you notice that the plumbers charge more than what prevailing wages determine in most markets in this country. The whole point of my argument is the supply of enough workers to maintain the prevailing wage down to around 50K for an IT worker with 4 years of college education.

About your two possibilities on folks who earn $15 - $25 per hour, you forgot to mention the third possibility which is the position is defined with the rate of prevailing wages by the time the pay reaches the poor consultant after numerous sub contracts and cuts he gets barely 65K dry. Then he travels around the country with just a towel and a pillow on projects because he doesn't make enough for a nice hotel and the company he works for cannot afford to put him in a nice hotel. An American counterpart also makes 60K/per year in salary but he travels good with expenses taken care of by the employer.

The underlying point is that, the influx of 1 million H1Bs is the justification for the current prevailing rate.

Do you know how many of 1 million H1Bs are bringing home 100K/year. What about all the others whom i see working for $15 - $25 per hours. Do you know the number of those? There are very few making 100K and most are just lucky if they get 50K paid year around. If you know little economics then you would know what i was talking about. If you understand the simple economic concept of supply and demand, then your friend who is making 100K would have been worth 250K/year and the Micky Mouse H1Bs ($15 - $25 per hours) would be making 100k/year GIVEN: No influx of I million software workers in the labor pool.

I would rather not debate with you on this topic in this forum. This forum is more for quick answers and not for world economics and politics.

KaliJaban,

Yes, i think once you have a full 5 years of credit on the credit report BMW should not ask you for any immigration status. Do not volunteer to give any information out without them asking for it. Also keep in mind that your first arrival date may not be the first thing on the credit report. Your first credit card date is possibly a reliable date for your beginning credit history date. So i would count from the first credit card initiation date and not your arrival date to this country.

Good Luck !!!

I think the dealership pulls your credit history and if you have lived here the minimum of 5 years in the US and you have credit activities proving the over 5 years residency in US then the question about your immigration status should not even come up. This happened to me and my friend. I just got a 535XI, 100% on loan, 0.00 down for .9%APR, and my friend who is also on temporary Visa was denied for 330I for the same rate, they are only willing to give him loan worth the remainder of Visa. So he denied the offer. The only difference between me an him is i have lived here for over 10 years and its his third year here.

The point is, BMW financial checks for you 5 years of credit history and if the credit report doesn't show that then they will ask for papers. No one is discriminating anyone. BMW went for this options because of so Many of H1Bs who just ride the expensive cars and run back to India leaving the car in the parking lot.

As someone mentioned above...comments we make makes us look fall into 81 IQ category. We are not here because of our intelligence, we are here because more supply of mediocre workers are needed in this country to bring the labor rate down. And that is done by increasing the supply. And its not our fault why we are here, we are brought here to drive down the product costs so that Americans can afford it.

Topic: Waiting for Finger Print Request

I am in the same boat, i had requested for Service Request last week about biometrics notice after not receiving FP notice for over 34 days from the day USCIS received my application. Today i received a letter from USCIS saying

" Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing htis case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please call customer service at the number provided below. All Returned documents will be re - mailed."

I was hoping to receive the FP Notice but not sure what this notice is about. Is this telling me that my application has fallen into the black hole.
