I think you still should be fine, as you have not been 'out of status' for more than 180 days, since your last entry in US.

There was an information sometime back from USCIS that they have assigned temporary A# for applications in July/Aug and A# can possibly change, after reconciliation.

Few minutes back, I got magic email - Card production ordered for both me and my wife. It was a long journey since 1999. Many a times, I thought about quitting the whole process - and I may still go back, but this is a huge relief.

And IOs either do not have have any clue about what they are talking or they simply fake. When I had called at 5 CST today, I was told my case has not been assigned to an officer. I had lost almost all hope to get GC in near future.
