Topic: Who pays the I-485 related costs?

If you have that appointment letter and it clearly says that all costs towards the permanent residency process (including adjustment of status) will be the responsibility of the employer, then show that to them. You seem to have everything you need right there in the letter. What more do you need?

same here - three soft LUD's in a week. I'm hoping they are working on our files. Any idea how we could find out if our cases are pre-adjudicated?

Topic: Fingerprints, kid turning 14 now

I filed my I485 in July 07. My son will soon be turning 14. I think I read somewhere that 14 year old required different biometrics?
Has anyone got any info on this for me?

Topic: same rfe sent again

I don't think you have much to worry about.
If you check your status online and it says "Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed."
then you should be ok.

Topic: "Current Status: Case received and pending"

There's not much info to be derived from "Case received and pending" mine has been like that since Aug 07 except for a recent RFE.
The "last update" LUD changed a few times. First time was when they sent us our FP notices, then again after our FP appointment. Then it changed on 01/01/08 (I think that was just nothing) Then the date never changed until June 09 when the RFE came.

I think the next message should be "Card production ordered"

I don't know whether no change is good or bad. I guess it means one of two things: No one has touched your file or if they did then there was nothing needed.

You said "since the processing dates for NSC are now current (4 months)" This statement is not correct or maybe just confusing. There are two issues: The Priority date, which is on the visa bulletin is U (unavailable) for EB3. That means there are no visas available for EB3. The processing times for NSC is reported at 4 months. BUT, BUT , BUT that is only for cases that have current dates. So it is not really relevant to EB3 right now.

Hope this helps
