Yes, you need to apply for HSMP (not sure when Tier1 will be replacing HSMP in Korea)

Topic: FLR -HSMP - Applying from UK

Hi,

It is not advisable to withdraw if you are reaching 10 weeks as you can question them the status after 10 weeks.

Once you reach 10 weeks you can call them ask the status and tell them it is urgent also.
So would like to talk to the manager then they might put you to Manager. Speak to him clearly and get the status and also the how much more time required to process your application.

You will need to put your request for withdrawal in writing to the Tier 1 team.
either by Fax or by post.
The Fax number as per my knowledge is 01142076555

Contact the Customer service they will advice you.

If you are looking Urgent treatment for for Tier1 application. then it is not available.

There is no urgent treatment for Tier1 application. However you can write a letter explaning your reason and evidance.
then they might treat the case as urgent.

Topic: current applications that are processing

Do not be disappointed by my statement:

It is the same case for all in Tier1 application they will get the referance number quickly but current processing is taking more than 5 week time.

Topic: Things to do as soon as you land?

Hi All,

I would appreciate if anyone can give details on what are things that needs to be done right away as soon as you land.
Hi,
1> I know we need to get registered with Health care ? any details on how to take appointment(online link or phone number)?
Once you come here find out nearby Surgery and get registered there.

2> I will be opening bank account. How do i take money to UK for my initial deposit(planning to take all my savings). Traveller's cheque? cash?
I feel Traveller's cheues are best option. Have some liquid cash also.

3> I have international driver's licence (USA) and i read it is valid for 1 year(can anyone confirm it?). So given it is valid for 1 year, do i still need to go and get some kind of temporary driver's licence?
Read the following link
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLicensing/DrivingInGbOnAForeignLicence/DG_4022561

4> Is it possible to have cell phone provider that works international? as i might be coming back to home country after first few weeks in uk before i go back and i know we need to give uk cell number in resume.

yes.

Topic: Can i get my Visa stamper through a employer

Is your friend on UK Business Visa?
Till when you HSMP approval letter is valid?

The following options which I feel better
1. if your employer is ready to apply for work permit then come here on WP and later switch to Tier1.
2. you can reapply from India itself once you have statisfied the maintanance criteria.

Topic: Can i get my Visa stamper through a employer

Please read carefully the link you have sent :

You can make a Business and Commercial work permit application if:

you are an employer based in the United Kingdom;

Are you an employer in UK?

Topic: Can i get my Visa stamper through a employer

There are two conditions:

1. You can do it but you should be in UK on work permit as Business visa /Visit visa holder are not permitted for swtiching.

http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/workingintheuk/pointsbasedsystem/applying/initialapplications/

2. If you come her eon June1st and if you apply after June 30th when the last date for transactional arrangement then you need to show 3 months maintainance funds.

Hope this clarifies you doubt
