Folks,
most of the history taught at school and current news are deliberately keeping out the names of actual freedom fighters so that India remains subjugated to the idea of colonial supremacy.

The company had filed H1-B extension from NSC on 10/21/2015 and because it had not been approved even by 12/20/2016 it was converted to premium processing and approved within a week on 12/27/2016.

Topic: Transit in Abu Dhabi - Change in Airline

If you are travelling to the US through Abu Dhabi then that becomes your port of entry. CBP personnel will process your entry right at Abu Dhabi. Have all your documents ready for inspection. Ethihad airways waits for all the passengers to complete their immigration processing and that is the cause of delay on most occasions.

I was on a H1-B and single when i applied for the I-485. After marriage my wife joined me on a H-4 but is now back in India. If I switch to EAD and change my employer will it be possible to add my wife to the I-485 petition when the dates become current?

Collected the re-issued passports for me and my wife from BLS San Francisco today. We showed up at about 4:15 PM and were out by 4:45 PM. The staff were pretty helpful and issued the passports within 10-15 min of collecting the receipts.

Topic: Indian Passport Renewal (San Francisco)...

my wife and I went over to the BLS SF location. It was rather quick and easy.. The appointment time does not seem to matter. As we reached out to the greeter to obtain a sequence number we were advised that it was not necessary. He checked both our documents and asked us to submit our applications at the Passport receiving counter. The lady at the Visa section called us over immediately even though we mentioned that we were there for Passport re-issue. She was nice enough to hold on to our applications until we drew the necessary cash from a nearby ATM. So far so good.... have received the text messages indicating processing at the consulate... hope we get the passports back in the 2 week period.

Topic: Arrival stamp missing in my passport at the port of entry.

My guess is to Look for something closer to your current location. Since you are visiting a deferred inspections office of CBP\USCIS you should be able to schedule an appointment anywhere within the US. Try calling up the USCIS\CBP office to confirm. Personally I entered US through San Yasidro and went to the USCIS\CBP office in downtown San Francisco.

Once you walk away from the port of entry without settling any discrepancies with regard to I-94 or passport stamping only the deferred inspection officer has jurisdiction to effect changes. I tried to get the corrections done at SFO and SJC but both offices said that they no longer can assist since I had walked out of the CBP area without raising the question.

A) Obtain an Infopass appointment with USCIS by completing the online registration process at http://infopass.uscis.gov/ Choose the zip code wisely to locate a government building which houses both the USCIS and CBP Deferred Inspections. One such zip code is 94111 ( I went to a few other locations where officers did not have a clue about handling this situation but they all eventually led me to 94111 ) On the Please select Kind of Service you need screen choose You need information or other services. Once you complete the registration process print out the Infopass appointment(make more than 2 copies to retain for personal records) Show up for your interview and explain the circumstances that led to the missing stamp on the passport to the USCIS officer. Pick an endorsement slip from the USCIS officer and proceed to CBP Deferred Inspection Office. Present the endorsement slip to the CBP Deferred inspection Officer. Again explain all the circumstances to the CBP Deferred inspection Officer. CBP Deferred inspection Officer will ask for your passport. CBP Deferred inspection Officer will place a date stamp with the actual day you entered US.

Topic: H1B 8th Year extension at Tijuana, Mexico

Folks... I am on a H1B with the same employer since 2004. The company that I worked for was acquired by a larger entity(in 2008). This extension petition was applied under the name of the larger entity as petitioner in the first week of 2012 and got approved in the first week of Nov 2012. I went over to India in the last week of Jun 2012 and Returned to the US in the first week of Dec 2012 using my Advance Parole document combo card I-512. At the port of entry I was asked to go through secondary inspection during which the officer asked me a lot of questions about my prolonged stay in India. I explained to him that I had left the US after my H1B extension was filed and had to stay back in India untill that got approved in November 2012. I also explained to him that I am now re entering using my Advance Parole\ EAD combo card since my boss requested me to join work immediately. He eventually stamped me in as PAROLED AOS valid till Dec 2013 even though my I-512 combo card was expiring in April 2013.

I then applied to the US Consulate General in Tijuana for getting my extended H1B VISA stamped. The officer asked me about where Im coming from. He then moved on to who I was aorking for and what that company does. Then we began speaking about the acquisation of my original company by the larger entity and so forth. He then asked me wetehr I ahd a masters degree. He was nice to talk to and eventually told me that he was from the same area where I did my scholling and we exchanged some pleasentaries bout the place. He then began asking more questions about the location of work and the location of my manager.

Finally he asked me if I had been through any secondary inspeactions at the port of entry. I mentioned this happend only on my most recent US visit. He asked me if I had my I-512 with me which I promptly handed over. He then asked me to take a seat while he discussed the case with ohter officials internally within the consulte. After about 15-20 min he returned and asked me a few more questions and finally said that my visa is approved and that I had to return the succeeding day to collect the passport and I-797. He wished me a good day and a happy new year on the way out. I thanked and wished him the same.

Topic: How long we can stay out of country on EAD

I went to india mid june and returned in the first week of december and entered on the AP. Was asked to go for a secondary inspection, where the officer wanted to know why I was away for so long. I was waiting the approval of my H1 which took 5 month. The officer understaood the circumstances and stamped me in at SFO. I guess one will require a valid reason for a prolonged absence.
