Topic: March 2016 I-485 filers - lets track!

Waiting for this day since long time. Magic message arrived on my phone today at 2 pm. My I-485 is approved finally.

EB2I
PD: 01-31-2008
RD: 03-31-2016
Ported from EB3 to EB2
No RFE
Approved: today (12-05-2016)

My PD became current in December bulletin and my applications processed immediately.

Some history of my application:

Joined company A in 2006 and started GC process in EB-3 (as that was the only option)
Labor and I-140 approved in 2008
Couldn't convince my management in company A to start EB2 application until 2014.
Left company A in frustration during 2014 and joined a better prospect - company B
Started the GC process in company B
In 2015, due to re-org in company B, they moved me to another legal entity within the company (company B-1)
Started the GC once again in 2015 June through company B-1
Labor approved through company B-1 in Feb 2016
As the date was current, applied I-140 and I-485 concurrent
Received EAD and AP (some relief) during April 2016
In 2016 May, contacted my local Congressman and came to know that my background check was complete by May 2016 and my application was waiting for visa number assignment.
Date retrogressed in May 2016
PD became current in December 2016 and got the approval message today.

Some tips to others:
Believe in yourself.. never lose hope
Don't hesitate to spend $1250 to apply your I-140 in premium processing (if your PD is close to current)
Don't compromise on your career or buying home, etc.
If your 485 application is delayed, Contact your Congressman and get the status.

I wish good luck to everyone who're in the GC journey.

Congratulations buddy!

It is very encouraging to see your approval and also the approval for http://www.trackitt.com/member/immigrantx .
Take away from these 2 cases: NSC is approving EB2I for 2007 PDs (porting) and 2016 RDs.

My case is very close to yours and hoping to see the approval soon.

Topic: December 2016 Green Card Approvals

My 485 application is current as of this month and hope to see the approval sometime soon.

EB2I
PD: 1/31/2008
RD: 3/31/2016
EAD/AP received on 4/29/2016

Last May (when I was current) I took the help of local congressman to know the status of my application. Congressman's office replied to my request saying "From a current review of USCIS electronic records, it appears that standard elements of the background check process have been completed in these permanent residency cases. However, your constituents’ applications are currently pending assignment to an officer for adjudication at the NSC. ".

Do you guys suggest SR in this case immediately? or it is too soon? As I have been in this journey since 9 years, probably this is my best chance to cross the finish line.

Looking for suggestions from experts.

Topic: November 2016 Visa Bulletin Predictions

Hard to tell, going by the current trend it may not go beyond 2008.

Until we get to see the I485 inventory, everyone is speculating. If there are more porters in 2006-2007, then even 2008 is screwed. So take it with a grain of salt.

Topic: November 2016 Visa Bulletin Predictions

That doesn't tell us anything other than total pending applications. What is needed is quarter or year based pending applications in EB2-I and EB3-I.

Mr.Hydrabad, wait until January and you should know your chances for the next fiscal.

Topic: GC for $500K only !

Note that 500K investment is only for regional centers investment. So identifying the right regional center is not an easy job. So you need someone to give you the list of centers and their success rate, etc. As far as the attorney fees, I'm pretty sure that it costs significant money as one of my friends consulted an attorney.

Topic: EB3 to EB2 Porters ONLY Thread - Lets Track any updates !

My PD is January 2008, EB2I and already filed I-485 3 months back. Does any one knows how many NEW EB3->EB2 porting one can expect for the 2005-2007 time period? Based on April inventory, there are 800 applicants are ahead of me (with earlier PD) in EB2I queue. I'm just trying to see whether I can make a cut from the available 2800 visas during 2017. Unless there are significant number of portings, I believe there is a chance for me.

I agree! On top of it add the visa consumed by spouse applicants, so multiply pending applications * 1.5

Topic: GC for $500K only !

Not straight forward as one might think.
- in Addition to 500K count approx. 45K for attorney fee
- If the investment in regional center goes south, you may get back less than 500K after few years

Risk of burning hard earned money is more unless your dad/FIL has a deep pocket.

Topic: EB2 India Retrogression: In progress I-485 cases

Dear Mr.Hydrabad
You are simply misleading everyone in multiple threads. In one of the threads you yourself asked about how the process works. So stay away from spreading false info.

Here is the update I received after sending a request to my senator:
"In an update which the NSC Congressional Unit received, we are informed that, due to the volume of requests for immigrant visa numbers, the aforementioned cut-off date is currently in effect as of May 9, 2016. Consequently, immigrant visa numbers may be currently available for India-born applicants under the EB-2 category who have a priority date earlier than October 1, 2004."

Bottom line, USCIS will not process previously filed I-485 applications until the dates become current.

Topic: EB2 India Retrogression: In progress I-485 cases

Here is my situation.
Priority date: Jan 2008 (EB-3 to EB-2 porting)
Filed I-140 and I-485 concurrent on 3/31/2016
I-140 (premium processing) was approved on 4/7/2016
Received EAD and on 4/27/2016
Finger printing was done this week.
Now GC (I485 approval) is pending...

Now that EB-2 dates have gone back to Oct 2004, does my next step of I485 pauses as well? Any one aware of similar situation and outcome in the previous years?

Topic: I 140 Premium processing

Today my PERM has been approved. I'm going to recapture my previous PD (from my earlier I-140) which is current now. I have the following questions and appreciate if someone provides info on those.

- My I-140 and I-485 will be filed together in March. Is there a benefit in going with I-140 premium process?
- If I follow regular I-140 process while filing concurrently, will there be any chance of delay in getting the EAD, travel documents, etc?
