Topic: EAD for H4 Visa Holders

Stop wasting time and move to Canada

As we all wait for the H4 to get "something"...Canada is giving a chance to many. See if any of you qualify and might be interested.

Instead of Canada it is better to go back to India, if both spouse are capable of earning good money.
Canada is not at all comparable to US in terms of opportunities and savings.
Really appreciate the efforts behind EAD petition.

I don't agree . Salaries in Canada are more or less similar to US . Higher taxes are compensated by free health care and better social benefits .

I've been following this admin fix for H4 for more than a year now . I don't think this will materialize anytime soon. Too much politics and economics involved in this . I would suggest moving to Canada for better options .

Topic: Good News for H4 visa holders

Why not ? It does not make sense ...As per the proposed rule it looks like that all USCIS would be looking at is whether my H1B is extended beyond 6th year based on approved I-140 . Why should they care if I change my employer after I get my H1B extended ?

I got my h1b extended for 3 years beyond 6th year based on I-140 approval through company A.

Now I changed my employer to company B which has yet to fill my PERM again .

Will my wife be still able to get an EAD based upon this rule even if my approved I-140 was through the company which I don't work for anymore ?

Topic: Timeline for passport receipt for dropbox

No appointment needed for dropbox processs . Just take the documents alongwith dropbox letter and submit them at the nearest OFC location . No wait time for me . Also make sure you check the documents to be submitted yourself . Folks at the dropbox location are dummy and does not know anything . They are just acting as a intermediary courier service . To avoid delays or rejections i suggest to go through the exact checklist of documents mentioned on ustraveldocs .

Topic: Timeline for passport receipt for dropbox

Got my H1B visa stamped today through drop box at Chandigarh office . The process was very simple and straight forward .
It just took 5 days from the time i submitted my documents until I received my passport back .

I submitted all photo copies of very basic documents like I-797 , paystubs , W2 etc

Will this rule be approved eventually ? I have a very critical decision to make ( moving to Canada ) based on this rule . Can anybody predict if this rule will come into effect in 6 months or not?
