A few words about me
Am proud to have broken the 1000 day mark! Have to laugh or you'll cry. I'm sure my application is next in the pile, probably covered in a layer of dust and coffee cup marks.

Topic: Visiting the London CHC in person...

Hi,

My wife is back in the UK this week, and we thought it might be worth her making an appearance at the CHC to ask how our PR is progressing (applied Nov 2005, 90 day letter in Jan 08... no medical request yet).
We are both currently living in Canada as I came over in Feb this year on an Intra-Company Transfer so I was granted a 3 year WP. We have sent this information to the London CHC but it doesnt seem to have fast-tracked us as some people suggest having a job here does.

Does anyone know or think its worth her spending the moring queuing there, or will it be a complete waste of time... ie they won't give any information. Any advise welcome. On a positive note, if she spends a hour in the CHC it will be one hour less on Oxford Street spending my hard earned dollars!!!

Topic: Has anyone applied to for a CAIPs to get information on their application?

I've seen on this forum that people have mentioned CAIPSs, but I'm not sure how useful people have found it.
Apparently it gives you information directly from the CIC immigration system to show where your application is and what is happening next. Apparently it also highlights whether there are any issues or missing documents....

Topic: I'm British and applied for my Canadian PR at the London CHC in Nov 2005....

Hi,

Everytime I have corresponded with the CHC via the post I have included a covering letter with everything clearly pointed out.
including my file number, name, address etc..

In this case I sent my employment details and work permit along with my updated Police record as the previous ones were now out of date. Everything else that they requested in the 90 day letter was given to the CHC by hand a few weeks before, including a surname change following our marriage. On the online application status they have updated our Surname so we at least know that they have correctly received the information we delivered by hand.

Cheers

Topic: I'm British and applied for my Canadian PR at the London CHC in Nov 2005....

Thanks for your response Ray.

I sent them a copy of all my employment papers that I needed to get my working visa. I also sent them a copy of the actual 3 year working visa that was put in my passport. They had all this back in April.
I have emailed the CHC but they state on the website that they will get back to you in 28 days, or not at all if you can find the answer elsewhere... I love the power these guys have.
My wife is back in the UK in August, so she might go in person to the CHC to check they have all our updated info and to see when we might hear about our medicals...

Fingers crossed

Cheers

Topic: I'm British and applied for my Canadian PR at the London CHC in Nov 2005....

has anyone else applied around this time and had anything back from them?
I received a letter in Jan 2008 asking for me to update my application which I have. The letter stated that we would hear from them in 3 - 5 months (so June latest)... its now August and we still havent heard anything.

I'm currently in Canada on a work permit, but am desperate to get my PR so I can change jobs.

If anyone else has applied at the London CHC it would be great to hear how you are getting on, and how long the process took.

Cheers
